Getty ImagesThe 2011 season has begun, and for the first time since 1997 Terrell Owens doesn’t have a job in the NFL.
He doesn’t expect it to last. The receiver-turned-reality-star-turned-aspiring-actor tells (who else?) TMZ.com that he’ll definitely play this year.
“It’s just a matter of time,” Owens said.
Owens suffered a torn ACL earlier this year. He has said repeatedly that he plans to play. To make that happen, he’ll need to find a team to be interested in his services.
While many will surely say no, it only takes one to say yes.

….until the next mortgage payment is due.
Apparently, T.O. has interest in New England and Green Bay.
Philly and Baltimore are a possibility as well…
C’mon St. Louis!
T.O. is the biggest waste of potential ever. He never reached his potential and when he gets into the hall of fame, it will only be because voters held their noses while voting.
No.
Considering how he cried on his show about his financial situation he needs to play. He will sign with whoever offers a contract and will try to play next year also…..its sad really.
T.O. has played for Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Dallas and San Francisco. Taking him now would be like dating a girls that’s done porn. It just feels kinda dirty.
Sounds perfect for Al Davis and Oakland.
get yo popcorn ready!!
i hate when athletes where those thick black rimmed glasses i mean seriously?
Hopefully the Giants do.
He will have a great season. on dancing with the stars!
yea for the vikings. we need a deep threat.
……..before I’m broke again”
T.O. is the new brett favre
T.O. and Chad reunion in New England! Worked out great in Cincy, right?
This clown is an EPIC douche bag…just saying..
… until he rejoins Ocho as a Patriot
He shouldn’t cost much, & if he acts up, just cut him. I think he’s still better than most teams #2 receivers.
PLEASE, football gods, make it Minnesota. If he could get 14 yards like Ochocinco, that would increase McNabb’s total by nearly 50%. I’ve got my popcorn…
T.O. has made it tough for himself by himself… #CrashDummy
Sure wish T.O. would GO away…
If I was a fan of a team that got T.O. I’d be pissed at the GM
As annoying as he can be sometimes id like to see him get on with a team and contribute. The guy is a freak of a athlete and one of the best to ever play the posistion. Just throwing it out there not that they ever would but if i was the Giants id be all over him.
Easly is on I.R so come back tom BUFFALO for old times sake
honestly, know one thinks he will play this year? he is a pretty goddamn good journeyman in my opinion. said it before (name dropper i am) when i`ve met him a couple times, he was a total gentleman and classy. you go t.o, hook up with a solid team to push the numbers to canton.
Steve Smith TO, shockey and olsen, with stewart and williams, then Cam the Man, come on man!!!!!!
That sounds like a very humble young man who’s hungry to prove he can still help a team win a championship :sarcasm:
It would be bad ass to see him finish his carreer in sf where it all started. What a dangerous group they would have with Crabtree,Edwards,Owens, and Vernon Davis.
Alot of divas though.WOuld make great reality tv lol
So why is there a picture of Randy Jackson next to a T.O. article?
I for one would welcome TO to my team. He is a freak and I would not doubt that he can make any team more dangerous on offense.
St. Louis is the place for him to start right away. They could possibly make a run with player like him.
i would not mind seeing t.o. in sf to end his career i think after having to play in buffalo and cincy he might have a better attitude. he is an upgrade over edwards and morgan and could show crabtree how to practice and play hard
From the looks of those glasses he was prescribed, its a matter of time before glaucoma starts setting in.
Lots of teams need receivers (Vikings, Rams, Raiders, maybe Seahawks) and T.O. will play anywhere that wants him, so I think he will find a team pretty quickly once healthy.
Somebody is going to sign TO. And a lot of you won’t be happy. That’s why I want to see him come back. Stop hating.
T.O to St. Louis is actually a damn good call. They should make that happen. And to the people saying Minnesota, I hope you’re joking. There’s no way that would end well. Can you imagine T.O.’s press conference after a double-digit McNabb performance?
just aint the same since dandy randy left
He’s still better than a ton of wrs in the league
This is where it stops being funny and starts becoming kind of sad.
I want to dislike this guy like a lot of you but I just can’t. Maybe it’s pity. Shouldn’t be though. Is a team going to pick him up for leadership? It all comes down to what TO wants. Money? SB? What exactly does he want? He’ll probably end up in Minnesota but that won’t help his TV career.
Hard to type while doing sit-ups in the driveway.
As many have said, he will get signed and he is certainly capable of contributing if two things happen:
1. He stays healthy
2. He doesn’t start being a prissy little girl for some perceived slight…
Incentive-laden contract with small base so if 1 or 2 occur the team can release him with minimal impact…
Come back to Buffalo, you were pretty good for us, and you didnt cause any trouble that i know of. with easley on IR, we need someone! He’s better then our other options for real
NERD! POINDEXTER! MELVIN!
I can not see Hall Of Fame in this, ah’Hummm, man’s future. If he is elected to that pristine location, I will lose ALL respect for all of the players elected before him.
He is a cancer to all locker rooms and can not stay out of trouble and the limelight.
He is a Negative.
Come back to Dallas so we can break your leg in practice!!!
How many bridges did this guy burn throughout the years? Some desperate team would really have to reach to sign him. Also, when he’s done and wants a 1 day contract to retire with his team. Are there even going to be any takers who would even want any part of this guy?!
Hey TO, I need someone to clean my pool on Sundays. Looks like you’re available so hit me up…
Unlikely, until injuries mount toward the middle of the season. Like him or not, he keeps himself in shape, and put up numbers for Cincy, when Palmer wasnt on his back or completely missing receivers altogether.
good for 35-44 grabs and a few td’s and a few drops. His burst is fading, but he’s a step above a lot of starters….
@ ppl calling TO a big waste of potential.
Could you please explain what the guy at #2 on most NFL receiving records should have done to have a solid career?
Had he not quit on three teams the HOF question wouldn’t exist. If he plays again he will easily be #2 on the receiving list in yards. He is currently 4th in touchdowns behind LT, Emmitt and Jerry but LT is still playing so depending on how long each of them play he may move to two or three. Lets face it TO and Randy both had the talent to catch Jerry but both of them did waste the talent. Had he stay straight in Philly and not quit Mcnabb would still have a job and He’d be catching 90-100 passes for the past 8 years. Had he stuck with Dallas and not quit he would have been catching 80+ balls a year the past 3 years and he is still capable of being a 80+ ball receiver as long as the team has another top receiver. Put him in AZ across from Fitz and watch what happens. I don’t like the man at all but there is no denying his talent.
T.O. will have to wait for Dancing With The Stars. His can’t win a dancing competition with a bad ACL, now can he?
Giants.
Colston’s out for a month or so, Lance Moore may miss some more time….T.O. to New Orleans??
Come to Carolina, we need another threat beside Steve Smith.
