Getty ImagesBears linebacker Brian Urlacher has left the team to deal with what is being described as “a family emergency,” and it’s not clear how long he’ll be away or whether he will play Sunday at New Orleans.
Urlacher is reportedly in Arizona attending to a matter related to his mother. He is expected to be gone for several days.
In the Bears’ Week One win over the Falcons, Urlacher had a huge game, with 10 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery that he ran back for a touchdown.

Oh I thought he got another stripper pregnated…
Carry on
Classy, Kam.
Sounds serious. Hope everything is alright.
I was hoping to find out if the Bears were that good or Atl was rusty this Sunday.
doesn’t sound good for Brian’s family. hope all is well. and ya, the stripper joke is not necessary. rip the guy all you want but not his family.
As a Saints fan i hope all with your mother turns out ok…….on Monday. Good Luck Brain.
I wish everything is alright with you. #54. Come back when you need to.
@samie09 – lol good job making all Saints fans look good. “Brain”?
kamdaryda – Hopefully you die of cancer…
Prior, no need to wish cancer on Kam, …what he has is much worse,..hes so miserable he cannot even look at himself in the mirror,..cancer would relieve him of his horrible life. I hope he lives to be 100. Raider Nation.
I hate the bears but Urlacher is a friggen warrior
Thoughts & Prayers for Brian’s mother. Family always comes first.
Coming from a Saints fan I don’t want to beat the Bears with their best defensive player out.. I want no excuses when we beat you, and we will beat you. Hope your mother gets better. Urlacher is one of the best in the league and I sure would like to see him play in person.
Kamdaryda sounds like an upset stripper
Hope everything turns out okay for you Urlacher…
But you can’t miss a crucial NFC showdown…
Family is more important than any game. I hope whatever he is having to deal with turns out well.
Kamdaryda is a truly worthless human.
Good luck Brian! Bears fans are with you!

What a classless act!!!
Anyone that knows you should put a bag over their head when they are around you so they are not tarnished as well.
Thoughts and prayers to the Urlacher family. Hope everything works out for the best. Your other family in Chicago has nothing but support for you.
If he doesn’t play… the saints win….
Wonder what the spread is…
Why do some people have to be so mean? Small people living small lives?
The best to the Urlacher family!
Hope everything turns ok for Urlacher. Great player, leader, and outspoken classy NFL player. Hope he gets back on the field soon. I dont look foward to seeing you play the Packers but it wouldnt be the same without you.

1) I see the Saints winning regardless.
2) Some of you guys need to get some class. As a Pack fan, Urlacher is probably one of my favorite players not in green and gold and will go down as a HOF stud….much like the best player to ever wear Bears colors…the late Walter Payton. Hated that guy for carving up those crappy Packer teams, but he was THE man in the league for years.
Him not playing on Sunday would be a huge blow to the Bears. Remember when he was out in ’09 and everyone thought it wouldn;t be a huge factor? Then opposing teams ripped off scores of 45, 41, 36, 31, and 30, and nearly all of them were scored easily (remember Benson?). Only New England moved the ball on them like that last year with Urlacher in the line-up.
Not a shock that it would be a huge hit.
he just leared he was bald and went for hairplugs. Expect Polomalu results by Sunday
Brett favre-esque raider game! Bear down boys!
Good Luck Brian, Praying that your mother is alright, see you in Week 3.
Thoughts go out to the Urlacher family. Praying Brian’s mother will be all right.
RIP Urlacher’s mother
