Darrelle Revis on being miked: “It’s X-rated”

Darrelle Revis, Dez Bryant AP

On tonight’s debut episode of NFL Turning Point (VERSUS, 10:00 p.m. ET), a joint venture of NFL Films and NBC Sports, clips from Sunday night’s Cowboys-Jets game will be shown, including portions with New York cornerback Darrelle Revis wearing a microphone.

Revis battled Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant all night, with Bryant winning some battles — but Revis ultimately winning the war with a late interception that set the stage for the game-winning field goal.

“Pretty cool,” Revis said Wednesday, per the Associated Press.  “I’ll tell you, though, there was some crazy stuff on that mic, man.  It’s the heat of the battle.  He said words to me, and I’m saying words back to Dez.”

So what was said?

“It’s X-rated,” Revis said.  “There was a lot of stuff going on, a lot of back and forth.”

(Maybe R-rated would be a better description.  Not that there’s anything wrong with an X-rated discussion between two consenting adults of the same gender.)

“That’s real life,” Revis said.  “Whatever was said on there, that’s what it was.  It’s in the heat of the moment, the heat of battle.  That’s what it was.”

The “what it was” that didn’t land on the cutting room floor will be included in the show.  Tune in at 10:00 p.m. ET to find out “what it was” that made it.

I wonder if this artical would have “hate-speak” if that little disclamer wasn’t put in there…

  10. RexCanCoach says: Sep 15, 2011 11:13 AM

    Yeah it was x-rated, sure.

Dez: “hey Revis how about you go cover Miles and let me have at it with Cro?”

Revis: “Um…okay but Rex said only if you email him some photos of your feet without shoes and socks on.”

    Dez: “done”

Anyways in the beginning of the first half Dez owned Revis

  14. njdevil7 says: Sep 15, 2011 11:23 AM

Yes, Dez caught a ball against Revis.

    That’s considered “owning” a corner?

The fact that we still talk about the same Moss catch that happened over a year ago proves how good he is.

yea he was really faking the hamstring injury. That why he missed two games after right. I hate when people say stupid crap like that. At least know what your talking about and i always say the real jets fans know he was already injured going into that game he didnt even practice that week. So shut up hater. Dez Bryant as much of a beast as he is. 1 catch on Revis, it was a pretty catch but one catch. Revis island still going strong.

o my god are you kidding me ma!. Did you watch the game. Bryant’s first two catches, the td pass and the long pass were against Cromartie not Revis. He had one catch on Revis and it was a perfectly placed ball by Romo and he made a great catch. He didnt get owned by anyone. The pic says it all. Get it straight Revis is #24 not 31. Amazing, and people actually give this comment thumbs up. Are you people really this clueless or are you just that big of haters?

You are clueless. Watch a full jets game and then talk that crap to me. Look at the numbers receivers have put up against him the last two yrs. Thats all i need to know they speak for themselves hater. Find me one receiver that has had a big game against him the last two years. Go for it. Even when he was hurt last year he still played better than most corners.

you’re kidding right? that’s like saying when ed reed overcomes his fear of intercepting passes. You must not have ever watched Nnamdi play. Easily one of the top tackling corners in the game. While we’re at it, he is the top cover corner in the league as well. when he was with the raiders he didn’t have the luxury of playing zones. he manned up 100% of the time and completely shut down his half of the field. I’m not saying revis is not good, because imo he’s the 2nd best cb, but nnamdi is on a whole different playing field.

so you’re a stats guy huh? well then, nnamdi and revis must have both been the worst starting cb’s in the league last year seeing as how they got zero picks. Using your flawed logic, devin mccourty and asante samuel were the best cb’s because they got the most interceptions. Alas if you would watch the game once or twice you would realize the ball was kept away from nnamdi and revis and that is the reason they didn’t make any picks. That is also the reason why nnamdi didn’t make many tackles. Opposing teams both passed and ran the ball to the opposite side of the field. I wouldn’t expect you to understand that though.

Respectfully disagree Seabreeze. He’s strictly a side-line guy and the other Oakland DBs weren’t very good, so Nnamdi wasn’t targeted much. Would I want him on my team? Who wouldn’t, but I don’t buy the hype that he’s better than Revis…it’s not even close.

Wonder if there was anything mentioned about the refs pretty much F***ing the Cowboys, Revis? 7 penalties for the Cowboys, and ZERO for the Jets? I, alone, saw several hands to the face pentaltiies that were not called, a push-off by Burress on his TD catch, and also the hold around the waist on Alan ball by Derrick Mason. One thing is for sure, Dez had the adNot to mention the BOGUS “pick” call on Witten. The Refs were all about NY and 9/11 and making calls favoring the jets. Come on. I am making no excuses for the loss, but in the NFL, it should be mandatory to call a fair game on both sides of the ball. The Jets are a good team. They don’t need help on the part of the refs to win a game. They got exactly that this past Sunday.

I’m not an eagles fan, i am an NFL fan. but it is obvious this isn’t going anywhere. and the rest of oakland’s DB’s are actually pretty damn good. Stanford Routt is above average as a corner. Look up the burn rates for CB’s last year and Routt was top 5. Michael Huff at FS was 2nd team all pro. Tyvon Branch at SS is also a dynamite player. they threw to the other CBs because they didn’t have the opportunity to throw at the blanket that was nnamdi’s coverage.

    ——————————————–

In the past 3 seasons how many times has Revis been beaten? ONCE by Randy Moss.

Ask Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco, Reggie Wayne, Marques Colston, Terrell Owens, Andre Johnson, etc if they think Revis is a shutdown corner. They all put up garbage numbers against him aside from the one catch on Moss.

And the “holding your hammy” thing is old. It happened ONCE and it was a legit injury that kept Revis out a couple of weeks.
