A chronic hip injury finally has ended the season of Seahawks defensive end Dexter Davis.

The second-year players from Arizona State had been struggling all year with the injury. The Seahawks have decided to place him on injured reserve, per the Associated Press. He played in the team’s opener against the 49ers, but he has not practiced since.

A seventh-round pick in 2010, Davis appeared in 15 games last season, notching one sack.

His roster spot was filled by cornerback Kennard Cox.
