Haley gets a bad rap because he’s not really a likable guy, but he’s a damn good football coach.
------------------
Haley isn't just "not likable", he's easy to detest. There are/were plenty of head coaches who are/were simply unlikable; think Parcells, Coughlin, Johnson, Ryan, and Shanahan for a start. But all of these guys are just abrasive, they're not utter a**holes as Haley appears to be. He might be a damn good football coach, as you say, but his people skills and management style make Bill Parcells look like Wade Phillips...

Crennel? What did he win? What did he prove at Cleveland. Good coaches can coach anyone and can influence a bad GM to make better personnel decisions. If you replace Haley, don't swap him for a good assistant who made a lousy HC not too long ago.

"If G.M. Scott Pioli decides that the time has come for a change, it would be an easy swap of Haley for Crennel, whom many think didn’t get a fair shot in Cleveland because of G.M. Phil Savage’s arguably mismanagement of the roster and salary cap.

??? Crazy speculation with no thought or basis!!! If this horrible scenario played out, who would Romeo Crennel hire as the offensive coordinator?
Maurice Carthon? Crennel add to his own problems by not coaching up new talent and did it the "Belichick" way and ended up with disastrous "Eric Mangini" and "Josh McDaniels" type of results. Call any Cleveland Browns fan and they will remind you.

Romeo Crennel is a nice man and exudes nothing but class. That said, he just doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a head coach in the NFL. He respects his players too much and assumes that they always make the right decisions for themselves and for the team when they are on their own time. Some players can do that, some can't. The ones that can't need to have someone get in their face and read them the riot act, and that's where RAC comes up short. He should stay right where he is, where he can focus on one thing and leave the multi-tasking, administrative crap like player discipline to someone else.

Haley got a easy run last year as the rest of the division was having problems so this year this team faces a tougher schedule but everyone expected them to beat the Bills but the game shown everyone the Chiefs weren't ready. If Haley needs to get a team ready it is against the Lions and if they play the way they did last week I would say he will be in trouble.

RAC is a great DC but doesn't have it as a HC. I hope he realizes that and stays a DC forever. Just like Weis needs to be an OC only forever. RAC had a tough time even getting to DC since he had been in the NFL many years before he got his first DC job in Cleveland in 2000.

IMO the Chiefs' playoff berth was because of Weis and RAC, not Haley. That's not as much against Haley as it is a point of how great those two men are at their jobs. Believe me I know. Pats had a tough time adjusting to life without Weis and RAC that first year, especially RAC.
