I’m not sure what you’re looking at man, but Dunta lowered his head and speared the receiver. You have no idea what Dunta’s “intention” was unless you’ve talked to him.

I’m a huge “let the guys play” believer. It’s a violent sport. However, you can’t just lower your head and spear a person with your helmet.

15 yard penalty for any player who uses the top of his helmet unnecessarily.

15 yard penalty (with ejection if flagrant) for striking opponent on head or neck with forearm, elbow, or hands whether or not the initial contact is made below the neck area. (not applicable but worthy of note).

15 yard penalty (with ejection if flagrant) for malicious unnecessary roughness.

That said……I agree that Robinson should be fined, and I’m sure that Goodell will leap at the chance to suspend a “repeat offender” to flex the NFL muscles……my own take is that Robinson was mostly using the shoulder; but the head is right there attached to the shoulder, and he got the helmet under the chin, which is against the rules……unless you are Cullen Jenkins, of course.

my condolences on having a TERRIBLE COACH. No one in the history of the NFL has done less with more than Andy Reid. You could put Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Adrian Peterson on the Eagles and Andy Reid would still find a way to mess it all up. I don’t have a dog in this fight, so with no bias I’ll say that Robinson CLEARLY led with his head, wasn’t even THINKING about tackling Maclin. Helmet to helmet, hit him square in the facemask. No doubt about it, and he should be fined MORE for even suggesting it wasn’t.

If Robinson was looking to tackle Maclin, then why did he tuck his arm IN, instead of reaching for the wrap?

Clearly Robinson has learned NOTHING from his fine last year for the hit on Jackson, and apparently his coaches haven’t gotten through to him either. He’s lucky that he didn’t cripple BOTH of them.

$50,000 fine and a four game suspension. Dead serious. This guy’s going to kill somebody – and himself – playing like this, and he needs to GET THE MESSAGE.
