Getty ImagesJets cornerback Antonio Cromartie thinks he’s a better playmaker than Nnamdi Asomugha. I think Cromartie is right — at least on the days when he gets to play against Luke McCown.
Cromartie was named the AFC defensive player of the week today for his two-interception performance on Sunday against the McCown-led Jacksonville Jaguars.
It was a big game for Cromartie, who showed that he can make opposing quarterbacks pay for it when they go after him to avoid Darrelle Revis. Then again, most quarterbacks are going to do a better job of going after Cromartie than McCown did.

Now name all your kids in one shot and you won’t have to pay half your child support payments, loser.
Cromartie is a solid corner in coverage…not always consistent but his size, long arms and speed are hard to beat. But his biggest weakness is tackling, run right towards him and he becomes a matador.
Seriously? What were they awarding the defensive player with the most children?
Somebody had a crazy 2008.
(first time I’ve seen that clip)
Another day, another yapping Jet.
Cromartie is always either getting beat on the play or committing pass interference. I can’t stand the Nnamdi hype, but at least he covers legally, unlike those two guys in New York.
congrats to him. I bet the celebration from this leads to another little Cromartie in about 9 months.
(see Jets fans, we can make lowest common denominator jokes too)
@joetoronto I thought this was about winning the defensive player of week two, this year. That was last year, what’d I miss?
At least getting the award kept him busy for a little while resulting in 3 less illegitamate babys 9 months from now

You missed another kid, Jack.
How many gd 3 year olds can one dude have? At some point going forward we’re going to have to have mandatory birth control. Dude would rather pay for a dozen kids than spring for a rubber…..
What a waste of a good award…
How old are the posters on this site?? Every comment is about how many kids he has? What does that have to do with football? You can’t critique his performance, so you go after his personal life? I think you are all looking for the comment board on tmz.com
^^^

His 11 childrens and 8 babys mommas must be so proud of him.
Go Cro!!! Go Cro!!! Go! Go! Go!

I suppose all the haters on this site have picture-perfect lives, never making any personal mistakes. Otherwise they might pause before hitting that “Submit” button.
I don’t know about playmaker but definitely a better baby maker!
Let’s hope he comes up big against the Raiders and so on….
