Curry doesn’t fit that scheme similarily to how LoJack didn’t fit the Seahawks scheme. I believe in the right system Curry could be a Pro Bowler. If he would be willing to restructure his contract I could see quite a few teams being interested if Seatle decides they want to part with him.

At least you admit it. People drove me nuts with the Curry and Jason Smith talk before that draft. In college Curry played way too soft (not that he was a puss but he never seemed to really just let it all go on the field)imo to even be considered for top 5 much less number 1 and Smith was a spread offense tackle that I thought was one of the weakest top tackle prospects in years. Stafford was the right pick then and there is no question of it now.

It wasn’t just Mel Kiper, it was damn near everyone.

Of all the first-round busts during the Tim Ruskell era (Chris Spencer, trading a #1 for Deon Branch, Kelly Jennings), I actually cut him the most slack with Curry, because it was almost unanimous that he was the best overall player available.

He’s one of those guys who always seem to be in a place where he almost made a big play, but rarely comes up with one.

Being a sure tackler is not a special talent. You can find good tacklers in the later rounds. The ability to rush the passer is a unique gift that deserves Top 5 consideration, and Curry doesn’t have that gift. He never did.

It’s not Curry’s fault that the Seahawks drafted him too early. The same thing happened with AJ Hawk, who was a top 5 pick as well, and has only been a decent player.
