Chris Kluwe is back at the whiteboard

kluwe

Vikings punter Chris Kluwe has become a reliable source of humor on NFL issues by taking to his whiteboard and writing out responses that make most of us laugh.

His first missive of the 2011 season appeared on Thursday and the target was the NFL’s memo to teams regarding players faking injuries to halt the momentum of the opposition. He attached a picture of his handiwork to a tweet with the hashtag “somethingstupidwasboundtohappeneventually” and penned it in the form of a memo to NFL players from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell:

NFL Memo on Faking Injuries

Anyone who fakes an injury shall be publicly shamed by having their official position changed to “punter” or “kicker”. Remember gentlemen, this isn’t soccer. Play like you have a pair.

Good stuff from Kluwe. It works both as a joke about kickers and punters not being real football players and as a joke about kickers and punters often throw themselves to the turf when they aren’t touched in an attempt to get a flag for running into or roughing the kicker. They rarely get those flags and chances are that we’re rarely going to see anyone punished for faking an injury to get an extra timeout.
