But don’t blame Stafford when he goes down. It’s not his fault. Hell, don’t even blame Backus. He knows he is in over his head. Blame the Lions organization for drafting (another) DT, and (another) WR, and (another) RB, etc. instead of protecting their franchise QB.
Just think: they could have Michael Oher blocking for Stafford. Instead they traded up for Brandon “I’m not even the best TE on the team” Pettigrew.

um last i looked, Pettigrew set records for recieving yards for a Lions tight end (a group that includes the great Hall of Famer Charlie Sanders) last year

and we drafed MUCH needed depth with Titus Young, Mikel Lashoure and Fairley.

Actually they didn’t trade up. We gained a 1st 3rd and 6th round pick from the cowboys for roy williams.

Pettigrew is actually really good at blocking and recieving.

And he was drafted to actually help Backus. Which he has.

And stafford has shown that he can be surgical on a defense without CJ as well

Why do you say “we” when referring to the Lions..are you on the team?

That being said, most of the time he had plenty of time and he throws missiles. I think part of the problems the Chiefs had last week was Cassell wanted to show he can play like Stafford, but just doesn’t have the arm.

Anyway, the Lions will need to slow down the Vikings rush or Stafford will take some heat. I’d rather see Stafford take the sack than throw the pick.

That is beyond dumb. With that logic than even Hill and Stanton will be the 4th best QB rating in the league? Have you watched a single game, Stafford fits passes in windows that are as small as the ball. Nobody has ever said Stafford doesn’t have the number#1 pick kind of talent, he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy.
