It looks like all of this talk about Percy Harvin’s role is making the Vikings wide receiver sick.

Literally.

Harvin missed Vikings practice on Thursday with an illness. Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said that the illness has nothing to do with the migraine headaches that have caused Harvin so much trouble in the past.

“Yeah, from everything I’m being told. ... There’s a difference. We’ve gone through the migraines. There’s a distinct difference with what’s happening with your stomach and what’s happening with migraines.”

Earlier Thursday, Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said that he wants to use Harvin more on offense in the weeks to come. Musgrave said his limited playing time against the Buccaneers was a result of the Vikings having success on the ground early in the contest, although he didn’t explain why that meant Harvin wouldn’t be on the field since, per Musgrave, Harvin is “one of our best run blockers.”

It doesn’t sound like Harvin’s stomach issues are all that serious, so Musgrave should have a chance to expand Harvin’s role against the Lions on Sunday.
