Rams running back Steven Jackson tested his injured thigh at practice on Thursday, but his status for Sunday’s game with the Ravens isn’t any clearer.
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Jackson remains “questionable to doubtful” for the game after being a limited participant in Thursday’s session. It doesn’t sound like we’ll have any clarity about Jackson’s ability to play until close to kickoff.
“I was able to get out there today, practice a little bit, get a few reps in,” Jackson said. “I’m starting to familiarize myself with the game plan and knowing what Baltimore does. So mentally, I’m right on key with the team. I just have to continue over the next few days to see how the quad reacts to me actually doing physical work that’s football related.”
Cadillac Williams wasn’t able to practice at all thanks to the hamstring injury he suffered against the Giants. He is going to try to run on Friday, so his status is also in doubt for Week Three. Jerious Norwood and Quinn Porter are the other two running backs on the active roster.
All of the injuries on offense have slowed the Rams’ progress under new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. They looked impressive at times against the Giants, but clearly missed Jackson’s ability to move the ball on the ground once the ball got into the red zone.
