Michael Vick leaves with broken right hand

New York Giants v Philadelphia Eagles Getty Images

Michael Vick was able to start Sunday despite a concussion suffered last week, but he won’t finish the game.

Vick left the Eagles game for good in the fourth quarter with a broken right (non-throwing) hand in the fourth quarter. Vick returned to the game after getting x-rays and tried to play through the injury,  but he ultimately couldn’t continue.

Mike Kafka entered the game (over an active Vince Young) and promptly threw an interception on his first throw — a bomb down the sidelines. Perhaps Andy Reid was smart not to be too aggressive with Kafka last week.

The Eagles are finished LMAO! Nnamdi Asomugha is beyond overrated, he’s no Revis thats for sure. the Dream Team are getting thrashed by a mediocre Giants squad with no WRs. The Eagles are nothing but a product of pure media hype.

  13. kevpft says: Sep 25, 2011 3:59 PM

Alright, if Cutler was a wimp for stepping out when he couldn’t put weight on his planting leg, then what is Vick for stepping out when his non-throwing hand is hurt…?

The Eagles thought they had three QBs. Imagine their surprise when they found out they have NONE. The Eagles have now lost 4 of the last 5 games that hundred million dollar man Michael Vick has started. During those 5 games he has turned the ball over a whopping NINE times.

Today, he flat quit on his team with a fracture on his non-throwing hand. All the PR in the world can’t fix character issues. Take the money and run, Ron Mexico!

  23. jakek2 says: Sep 25, 2011 4:07 PM

  25. nflfuturist says: Sep 25, 2011 4:09 PM

So I think this finally puts an end to the “Dream Team” moniker that was stupidly cast on this squad.

Additionally, it’s time for Andy Reid to really be looked at here. Yes he wins games, but he continuously gets out-coached in big games and his teams never live up to their potential.

Lastly, how many of you jumped all over that +9.0 line the Giants had?! What was Vegas thinking there?

  26. wttoolman says: Sep 25, 2011 4:09 PM

GREAT game for Manning. He needed it, and Cruz came through. Absolutely SMOKED over Nnamdi.

Too bad about Vick and Maclin (not really). Injuries really stink, don’t they Philly? Can only hope it’s REALLY broken. Philly gets NO sympathy from the most injured team in the league (and their fans).

Well, Dr., Can you tell us your sources? A “broken right hand” is exactly what they said on TV…that is the report from the Philly locker room.

I would assume that their report has a bit more veracity than your “assurance”. Besides, if you have so much “insider information”, what are you doing posting on PFT right now? Don’t you have better things to do? I know I don’t, but I ain’t no team doctor.

There’s only a dozen or so things in life that are unforgivable. Torturing animals for fun and profit is one of them.

As for the team…. I guess they woke up from that “dream” and realized they wet the bed.

    —————–

it was 0-2 and we pulled the come from behind on Washington to springboard the season, we didnt lose a winable to game to a division foe at home, with an overrated secondary and horrible O-line. plus we had a defensive coordinator who had a clue. Eli got hurt and game 1 played game two and gained the respect of his teamates. Vick gets hurt and the Eagles go into a shell.

i could continue with the lack of similarities for a long long time.

Karma for Mike Vick? You morons do realize he went to federal prison for 2 years and lost millions of dollars right? Prison and debt doesn’t count as karma I guess.

    ———

It’s just a little time and money. What price does karma put on horrific cruelty to defenseless and restrained animals for the sake of having a few laughs at their expense? Vick didn’t spend a second in jail for torturing and killing dogs. If he’d been held accountable for that, he’d probably still be in jail.

As for the game: It comes down to three people: Reid, Matthews and Coleman. Matthews needs to be benched immediately. He’s been a disaster since camp. Ditto on Coleman, who offered one of the most pathetic tackles I’ve ever seen. And Reid? You can’t sneak the ball in on first and goal?

For the first time I am actually worried about this team. Lose another two out of four and the season might be lost.

I just laugh & shake my head in disbelief at those making weak arguements in their defense of Mike Vick
For example: “Vick went to prison, so people need to get over it/Vick deserves a 2nd chance because everybody makes mistakes/blah-blah-blah”

In my opinion, there are several acts that are unforgivable: 1) Murder 2) Rape 3) Abuse of the defenseless…children, the elderly, and animals.

Vick not only bankrolled an (illegal) dog-fighting ring, he personally took part in torturing dogs that were “losers.” This went on for at least TWO YEARS. The only reason Vick isn’t still doing it today is because he got caught.

A pattern of behavior that goes on for two years is NOT a “mistake.” Taking pleasure in torture is fu#$% twisted… how can you possibly justify that?

If all that wasn’t enough, Vick still shows signs of being an arrogant turd. I DO believe in Karma…and think it’s fitting that Vick continues to get hurt. At least Vick freely choses to play football and risk injury. Those dogs had no choice, and were shown no mercy.

At least Vick doesn’t have to worry about the Eagles torturing or killing him when he under-performs or is injured and can’t play.

  78. barethrotterbmonath says: Sep 25, 2011 5:38 PM

    1. Vick is still pissed about “he was treated” and still being treated “that way” still.
    2. Vick compains about no head calls and blames them on refs. And the league.
    3. He broke his bleeping hand not his head
    4. This is a conspiracy theory dude.

Bad, bad game from the Eagles.

Congrats, G-men…didn’t think you had it in you.

Under Reid my Iggles have always started bad…September/October record not good.

Vick’ll probably need time to heal this time, give it to him, and finish strong as per usual. November/December record is outstanding.

The ability to stay healthy is fundamental. Michael Vick has a serious issue with injuries. He puts himself in position to get injured too often and as a result does get injured and puts his team at a disadvantage. He and his coaches need to address it and they need to take very deliberate steps to correct it.

Things i would love to see:

    1. Dog killer boy get put out for the season.
    2. Watch Desean get jacked up! (again)
    3. See the eagles make it somewhere and pull the old Andy Reid specialty and choke like they always do.

Unforgiveable, to me, is a premeditated act that results in the emotional or physical scarring and suffering of a person or animal that is without significant reason or justification. Generally includes a healthy dose of hypocrisy, in that the person perpetrating the act would not accept any reason for having it done to him or herself.
