The Green Bay Packers were the Super Bowl champions last season. They may be an even better team this season.

The Packers went to Chicago and took it to the Bears on Sunday, winning 27-17 and reminding everyone that they’re the team to beat in the NFC. With the win, the Packers are 3-0, keeping pace with the Lions atop the NFC North. Chicago, at 1-2, is already two games back of both Green Bay and Detroit.

Aaron Rodgers was excellent for the Packers, completing 28 of 38 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns, all three of which went to Jermichael Finley.

For the Bears, Jay Cutler had his moments, completing 21 of 37 passes for 302 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. But the biggest problem in Chicago is what we talked about all week: The Bears’ offense isn’t balanced enough, and that’s Mike Martz’s biggest problem as an offensive coordinator.

The Bears finished the game with a grand total of 13 rushing yards, and nine of those came on a garbage-time scramble by Jay Cutler. Bears running back Matt Forte was limited to a stunning two rushing yards on nine carries. If he wants people to think he’s elite, he can’t ever have a game like that again.

And if the Bears want to keep pace with the Packers (and the Lions), they can’t have any more games like they had today. The Packers were the better team at Soldier Field, by a wide margin.
