Antonio Gates to see foot specialist

Chargers tight end Antonio Gates can’t shake his foot injuries.  He’s looking to a foot specialist once again for answers to why he can’t seem to stay healthy.

It gets frustrating,” Gates told Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune. “… [Seeing more specialists] I think I get the satisfaction of knowing that it’s not anything that would hinder me from my career.”

The question for Gates:  Should he sit out a handful of weeks to get “100%” or try to handle the week-to-week pain?

For Gates and the Chargers, it’s a question they are getting too familiar with.

His foot problems started when he was hit while gettting up off the ground, and still not down. It was the Titans playoff game from 3-4 years ago.

It wasn’t a cheap shot, just unfortunate situation.

As a chiefs fan I can’t say how good it is not to have him out there. As a football fan this sucks he is truly one of the best. Don’t think he is going to make the hall unless he gets more numbers. Still think tony g is the best of all time….

  23. atwatercrushesokoye says: Sep 27, 2011 12:33 AM

It’s kind of funny that he says that this is “something that won’t hinder his entire career” meanwhile he’s been dealing with foot problems in 3 of the last 4 years, it doesn’t seem like this is something that he’ll ever really get rid of.

  36. sharpdog says: Sep 27, 2011 1:40 PM

These comments will really keep Rex on his toes …

Gates may turn into the Chargers’ Achilles heel …

Without Gates the Chargers face frequent defeet …

  37. Mr. Wright 212 says: Sep 27, 2011 1:55 PM

Embarrassing that no one can be more creative than the Rex Ryan jokes 50 times in a row, and I can’t stand hearing FAT REX flap his jaws on every local media outlet here.

The Bill Walton joke probably went over most of these 19 year olds’ heads, but goodness, the Rex jokes are lame.
