Some of you idiots just count out the colts. First off, if they the D can play like they did vs pit and the O gets a little spark with Painter, who knows the system very well, they can be around .500 look at the next 5 games all winable. If they perform as they did sun with a great gameplan(shouldn’t surprize with 18 involved this week), and a HOT D. Maybe Texans slow down, and its close in DEC… MAYBE! But if u shut him down, and he practice without a hitch in dec and colts are still in the picture, how bad of a decision would that be? When all you had to do is keep 1 spot open on a relativly healthy team. Just saying, Too early to throw in towel. Even more with the inspirational play vs the AFC champs.

The Patriots had a backup that never started a game in college. Curtis Painter was a good QB at Purdue. Which team would anyone think had a more viable option? Fact is, until they get into a real game, you just don’t know what you have when it comes to backup QB’s.

How in the world did the Colts NOT have a viable option backing up Peyton Manning for all these years? And this is Bill Polian – he had Frank Reich backing up Jim Kelly for years.

as for the Colts, they wouldn’t made Peyton sit down instead of going for an UNDEFEATED SEASON because they were SCARED, so that mind set doesnt let Peyton play again this season for fear of getting injured for next season

Jim Irsay had nothing to do with Colts moving. That was BOB Irsay. Jim has been the owner since the late 90′s. As someone who has been a Colts fan since the mid-70′s, Jim becoming the owner has been a tremendous upgrade over his father.

As far as Manning missing a season and still being paid. For what this franchise was before Manning and what he has brought them over the past 13 years. The Colts are still getting one hell of a bargain.

I bet this has to do with an insurance policy. You don’t ccollect if you put him on IR at the beginning of the season. If he can play games and he doesn’t, no protection.

Tough bid for a hell of a player. Their defense looked pretty good yesterday but Collins is horrible. They should use this season to try and develop some young talent instead of going with “old unreliable”….

If Iwas Irsay (and thank God I’m not), I’d be huddling with my lawyers trying to figure out how I could get some of my millions back before Peyton walks away with all of them. How anyone could sign that kind of a contract with a player who has had two neck surgeries is beyond me. But then again I don’t say “out 4season” when I mean “out for the season.”

If they put him on IR, he can’t practice. Once he is healthy enough to practice, it is in their best interest to have him practice to see what he can do, even if they have no intention of putting him in a game.

If you haven’t realized by now, Peyton Manning runs ish in Indy. You don’t SHUT. HIM. DOWN. Only Manning can make that call. Remember this is the owner and he’s walking on egg shells.

Peyton ‘Jesus’ Manning is the be all end all in Indy. This is coming from a disgusted Colts fan. I say shut him down and draft Luck but that’ll never happen under the rule of Lord Manning.
