Going ahead with Vick looks more like a desperation move all the time. In Kolb you had a capable, smart, talented, loyal QB who could have developed along with the rest of their very young offense, and in a couple more years you’d have had a well-oiled offensive machine that could play the type of balanced game we see from the likes of New England and New Orleans.

Instead, they impatiently hitch their wagon to a guy that is fragile, routinely beaten up, and frankly, starting to get old for the type of game he plays. Vick’s simply not going to be able to outrun defenses for much longer before he loses that edge of speed (or injury slows him down abruptly). He’s barely above .500 as an Eagle (9-7 in Eagles games he’s played) already; how is that going to improve when his biggest strength is the first thing that’s going to go?

What, u mad bro? You forget Eli has 2 things Vick will never have. A superbowl ring, and the lead for consecutive starts by active QB’s.
Also yes McCoy did put up big numbers, but so did Ahmad Bradshaw against the Egirls.
Eli also passed for more yardage than both Philly QB’s and had 3 less picks.
Oh and JPP single handily kicked Philly’s Oline’s ass!

Had the Giants beaten GB the following week, they would have made the playoffs. 2) Vick was the QB for the worse beating in NFL history. Nope. Bears beat the Skins 73-0 in 1940. Pretty sure Vick didn’t play in that one. 3) “You lost to Rex Grossman.” Funny, I remember the Eagles losing to Washington week 4 last year with McNabb as QB. Right now, Grossman is a hell of a lot better than McNabb! 4) “Ok you all keep saying that the ring is all that matters.” Why else do they play and keep score if the ring does not matter? Obviously, it’s a sore point with you because Philly can’t get it done. But just because the team you root for is inept come playoff time, does not mean winning the Super Bowl is irrelevant. If you had any courage, you would admit you would give up your right arm to see the Eagles win the Lombardi. 5) “You won one game In the past seven games.” Yes, but our team won the Super Bowl just under four years ago. The only game that matters is the Super Bowl. It’s what every player plays for and every fan prays for. Regular season wins are meaningless unless you win the postseason. Vick supporters are so amusing to listen to.

Keep touting a guy that has never had back to back winning seasons in the NFL & has always disappointed in postseason.

Eli has never missed a start & has played with a sepatated shoulder. Also, in case you dummies have forgotten, Eli has a Lombardi. Which is one more than the entire Eagle organization has won.

Vick recently admitted that he has never studied defensive formations, and that he now wants to learn that side of being a QB. Nine seasons into his career he decides a QB should study. The Eagles were fools for keeping Vick and trading Kolb.

Here’s what they really fear: Kafka gets a start and plays well. If that were to happen they’d have a QB controversy all over again with a virtual rookie vs a $100,000,000, injury-prone, overhyped, undersized, turnover machine.

I predicted they would regret that Vick contract within two seasons. My prediction may have come true within two months.

Right, and which QB has the streak for most consecutive starts? When has Vick played 16 games in a season? Eli’s done that every year except his rookie season. You’re just a crying Eagles just like Vick and your coach. The Giants came onto the Eagles home field yesterday and kicked their asses.

Very odd mis-diagnosis.

As a niner’s fan, i completely empathize with the problems on the O-Line. Our’s is by far the worst unit in the league.

When healthy, Vick’s very impressive and is tough/frustrating to gameplan against. Regardless, i hope he get’s the start this sunday, because i’d like to see how the 9ers stack up against one of the league’s top teams. (even if your record doesn’t reflect that).

The eagle’s D, while not so stout against the run, will be up against a Line that generates NO push, and could not pass block for the life of them. A whopping 2.5 yrds/carry from a declining Gore, and leaving an average QB with about 1.6 seconds before the backfield is swarmed with green jersey’s won’t help us.

We’ll be missing Edwards, so your secondary should be able to contain Crabtree, Morgan and Ginn/Williams, leaving Vernon Davis to make the most plays for us. My guess is that while the other receivers will be pressed, you can afford a safety to spy on davis.

Welcome back Akers – he’s been automatic for us.

Our D line should get some good pressure and we’ll contain the run game, but we’ll get burned by the screen passes and quick slants to Desean that go for 80 yard scores.

Sadly, the Eagles have had our number during the recent past but we made it interesting the last time around…

With that being said – this is the NFL, where anything can happen so let’s see.
