APThe Bucs placed safety Cody Grimm on injured reserve Tuesday, according to Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times.
Grimm wasn’t exactly a difference maker, but he started nine games last year and all three games this season. Grimm’s 2010 season ended with a broken ankle.
Safety has been a trouble spot for Tampa for a while.
Fourth-year veteran Corey Lynch and first-year player Larry Asante are candidates to replace Grimm. Lynch is known more for his coverage skills.

The Eagles safety Coleman could miss the rest of the year and nobody would ever miss him.
Any word on Tanard Jackson? C’mon commish..
HELLO Tanard Jackson!
There is a message somwhere in this sad little tale. Cody and his brothers are going to publish it.
Corey Lynch, always gonna remember him for blocking the kick to secure the App State win over Michigan
Physically, he looks like crap…but he gets to the ball and makes plays. He will be missed…we could really use Tanard Jackson right about now…
Lynch is solid and makes plays on the ball while Asante should be more stout in Run coverage…either way, they are a far cry from T-jack
Larry Asante is a second year player…just sayin. Hopefully T-Jack gets reinstated.
this guy stinks…i dont care who his pappy is…you cant make the club in the tub…2nd year in a row…its over for him now. RETIRE.
“Grimm wasn’t exactly a difference maker”
Pretty strong words from a writer that can’t even proofread his own word.
.
Has anyone else noticed that several teams are looking for safety help. There appears to be a shortage at that position.

lol do you mean “can’t even proofread his own WORK.” ?
Sounds like a ‘Grimm’ prognosis, eh??
…chirp….chirp…..
Lots of season-ending injuries. Let’s blame one of the following:
1) De Smith
2) Brett Favre
3) Rex Ryan
4) Emmit Smith
Wasn’t exactly a difference maker?
Just another person that wants to talk Bucs football, yet doesn’t watch a snap outside of ESPN highlights.
Grimm was a big difference maker…he was the best player on this defense for about a third of the season last year until he go injured.
Do not speak of what you do not know. But I guess that is your job after all.
