Ray Rice is about 1/100th of the challenge to the Jets defense that Mcfadden was. The Jets defense is very physical but not that fast. Mcfadden happens to be possibly the fastest player in the league. Rice is a more downhill runner which fits perfectly into the Jets stengths. Which would explain why week 1 last year they completely manhandled Rice and the Ravens running game for less than 2.5 yards per carry.

I get it, but how many Jets fans do you see in this article? Everybody else is just here to turn Jets articles into Fat Blowhard Loser Freak central and whatnot. Plus, these ignorant conceptions and pseudo-facts get pushed around and accepted because it fits the agenda, which results in 300 comments on every Jets story. Did you seriously just use the performance of DHB as your measuring stick? Really? Come on MAN! Fact is, football is a team game, so Reavis being a stud doesn’t mean much when Cro is sooooooooo weak. The rest of America is chuckling this week from the double whammy of the Pats losing to the Bills, the the Sox choking themselves out of the postseason. Wrong on every count except one. Firstly, yes I can. Doesn’t take a psychology to degree to understand why a person would not be fond of a person who proclaims that his team is the best, and that his team would beat a persons favorite team when they played. Plus, people are used to the “one week at a time” Coaches, the way it’s been done for years. We tried the Belichick approach with Mangini (though the soundness of that decision is up in the air. Despite the terrible performance of the team, he drafted very well.) But yes, the Jets do try to put themselves on the pedestal, Rex believes that “the best place to be is when expectations are high.” He believes that the players will be motivated to live up to those expectations. It’s a philosophical difference, and nothing more. Do you REALLY think that even if Rex was quiet and subdued and we went 0-16 two years in a row that teams wouldn’t show up and give their all? The bullseye is there no matter what, nobody wants to lose in the NFL.

And as far as Revis goes, if you really don’t believe he’s one of the best in the league, then I shouldn’t have even wasted my time with this wall of text, there’s no hope for you. Incapable of objectivity, are we? He consistently locks down the best WR’s in the game, and he’s not shy of hitting either. Ask Eddie Royal. His stats always look paltry because he has a unique role in RR’s defense. It’s like with Bart Scott, he doesn’t have to put up monster numbers to be an impact players. That dude is always running around blowing up plays, while someone gets the glory for him. Individual players bring their own impact to a game, you dolt.

But in reality, you’re team gets crapped on for talking to the NY media who people think is the only news organization in the country. I’d go as far as to say that Sanchez is a good QB on a scale of Elite, Great, Good, Game Manager, Jamarcus Russell. He has shown flashes a skills and then nothing. Flacco gets the same thing here. I think Sanchez gets more media hype which makes him disliked, maybe unjustly. We loved Rex here in Baltimore but I don’t know if we could deal with the mouth if he were our head coach. But when one of 32 coaches constantly says how they’re going to win this or that, it gets tired and the push back almost seems deserved. Honorably, he’ll take the blame but everyone knows that no team goes out and expects to lose even if the odds are stacked against you. You just don’t have to say you’re going to win so much. It’s all a game though. The press asks because they know he won’t back down which I give him credit for.

Yeah they talk alot for not winning “much” but what they have accomplished since Rex has been there is definitely better than 95% of what all your favorite teams have done

They’re not even my favorite team, but I can respect them for getting to back to back AFC Championships with a 1st and 2nd year Head coach and quarterback

As much as it pains for me to say, as long as Rex Ryan is there, they will be a very tough team to beat……He is a great coach with a big mouth

The Raiders disagree

The bias against the Jets is incredible. I mean, I can easily understand why they’re so disliked, but I can’t figure out why they’re so disrespected. I hate guys like Brandon Marshall, Vontae Davis, Hines Ward, Mike Vick, Ben Roethlisburger, but I respect them because of what their incredible talents add to their respective teams, even if they’re not good people or stuck on failing franchises, or franchises I can’t stand. Then you got guys like Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning,Tom Brady and Billy B, I hate ‘em all, but I respect them as some of the greatest to ever do what they did. Which is definitely why I hate them so much, by the way. Who but Oakland fans hate JaWalrus? Face it, Mark Sanchez isn’t a terrible Quarterback, Darrelle Revis is probably one of the best cornerbacks you’ll ever have the pleasure (or displeasure) to watch, and Rex Ryan, with all of his flaws, bluster, and braggadocio, is a good coach, good for the NFL, and pretty entertaining, especially to a fanbase like the NYJ’s that’s endured the type of misery we have. The core of this team is still incredibly young, and are all improving. Trust me, the only people who take the Jets lightly are the people who post on these types of boards. The staff and players on your favorite teams don’t.

The Jets have a reputation of being trash talkers who don;’t back it up.

Show case team? First you have to win some hardware ie… Win a division, Conferance or Superbowl.

Uh, I’m a Ravens fan and what game were you watching? I think the final was 10-9. Not much “long bombing” going on in that one. I don’t mean to be disrespectful but you sound like we blew them out of the stadium. And whoever is referencing the Rams and Pitt game, please don’t. We got owned by the Titans. Two good performances against what looks to be a medicore Pitt team and the WAC Conference Rams at this point doesn’t exactly scream “Worldbeaters.” We as fans have seen this playout the wrong way too many times. These comments just sound like all the ones I heard on the radio about how we were just going to roll over the Titans and instead barely rolled out of bed.
