13. Cowboys (No. 14; 2-1): A team that should be 0-3 can defy placement at the unluckiest of numbers.

Whatever. The Cowboys should actually be 3-0. I am not saying they are a top 10 team at this point, but their D is performing well and keeping them in every game. The offense will continue to improve, and when Austin comes back, and the team is healthier, things will come together. And the D should only continue to get better as time goes on, and they understand the Ryan defensive scheme better. Romo is playing very well, and with help from the receivers and the center, he can be that much better.

I think we as fans are biased to where these teams should be then where they actually are. How do you rank anyways? Houston almost beat New Orleans who almost beat Green Bay so they should be 1, 2, 3 respectively? Or maybe it should be undefeated then one less teams? Maybe, Green Bay, Buffalo, Lions, or maybe it should based on who has been there and who we perceive as just having bad days? I.e Green Bay, Pittsburgh, New England, New Orleans? Or Maybe it's the NFL where a team like Titans can rip the Ravens and Seattle can rip New Orleans in the first round of the playoffs.

Eff the power ranking job, ya'll can keep it lol.

Three games... That's not much to go on yet. Every year there are teams that start hot and wind up mediocre, or start slow and pick it up later in the season. I like Buffalo and Detroit and wish them well (mostly), and think they're improving, but let's see where they are after 10 games.

Last year after 3 games:

Titans 2-1 (finished 6-10)
Texans 2-1 (finished 6-10)
Dolphins 2-1 (finished 7-9)
Bengals 2-1 (finished 4-12)

"Cincy should be ranked higher than Baltimore since they beat them!"

Yeah...

The Bills are Overrated? They just beat NE, in comeback fashion, and you say they are overrated. The team that starts 5+ 7th round/undrafted players on Offense is overrated. The team that was 4-12 a year ago is overrated. Also, how is a team with a 1-2 record overrated? Overhyped, not overrated. I am also sick of people saying Brady had an off day, thats why the Bills had a chance. There was only 1 flukey pick, and that was the Florence pick. Also, the Bills legitametly slowed Brady down in the second half, and with or without the Picks, could have still had the same outcome. The Pack couldn't play with NE on their very best day, therefore the Bills could run with the Packers, ecspecially when they are allowing Cam Newton to pass for 400+ yards. To bad there is no GB-Buffalo game this year, I'd love to see it.

6.Steelers (Clutch on their motorized wheelchairs)
7.Patriots (Defense?) 7 b Chargers ( come on KC lol)
8.Lions (In Sue we Trust)
9.Bucs (Young and ready for a run!)
10.Houston (Underrated but a loss is that)
11. Jets (I am suspicious of this team.)
12. Cowboys (Sean Lee.)
13. Redskins (Landry!) 13b Titans (Underrated b/f injuries)
14. 49ers (It Hurts playing them)
15. Giants (Manning lit it up)
16. Cleveland (McCoy very impressive/ Defense more so)
17. Denver (This is on Fox)
18. Phili (Line? Anybody? Learn anything from Dallas the last 4 years. No Line means lot of ouchies.)
19.Atlanta (Grossly Overrated)

PFII’s Week three Power Rankings

1. Buffalo (3-0)
2. Detroit (3-0)
3. Green Bay (3-0)
------------------------

I think the Bills and Lions are both legit. They have both poured it on when they had to and gotten W's. But that's looking at the floor...not the ceiling.

The Lions or Bills 'A' game for 4 quarters vs. the Packers 'A' game? They'd both be run out the gym before it started. The Packers have played sloppy in the last three games. Defense is out of sync. Special teams need work. Offense falls asleep in the second half.

It doesn't matter. They may be the only team I've ever witnessed that decisively beats playoff teams on the road by double digits and you feel like they left something on the table. No one can hang with this team right now.

lets get realistic here-

1) Green Bay- Not overly impressive yet. 3-0, defending champs.
2) Baltimore- Loss to Titans was a bit confusing, have been strong in two wins.
3) New England- No shame in losing to a better then everyone thought Buffalo team. Defense needs work.
4) New Orleans- Not as good as they were a couple of seasons ago. Never out of a game with Brees.
5) Detroit- Hard to argue with the way they have played, albeit against average competition.
6) Buffalo- Just a hunch- they wont be this high on this again. Earned this spot for now.
7) Oakland- Hate to admit it, being a Chargers fan, but is there a more fast and physical team in the league right now?
8) Pittsburg- Like Green Bay, not overly impressive. Will be there in the end.
9) San Diego- As usual they look flat in September. Both wins are against winless teams. I'll take 2-1 though.
10) New York Giants- Always a tough team to judge. Will get better as they get healthy.
11) Houston- We know they can score. Defense is improved, even if it didnt look like it against the Saints.
12) New York Jets- Raiders beat them up pretty bad, most teams wont.
13) Washington- Defense will keep them in games. Not sold on Grossman.
14) Dallas- Miss Miles Austin. 6 field goals wont win many games.
15) Philadelphia- Vick will be in and out all year. Defense must be much better.
16) Atlanta- They just don't seem right. They will get better, but it's the Saints division to lose.
17) Chicago- Inconsistant. Defense isnt as good as some think. No real offensive threat outside of Forte.
18) Tennessee- If CJ can round into form they could be a spoiler. Losing Britt costs them a chance at the playoffs.
19) Tampa Bay- Young team going through some growing pains. Still a year away from truly contending.
20) Cleveland- McCoy will win some games for them. Hillis needs to be around though.
21) San Francisco- Still need a quarterback. Gore is getting old.
22) Arizona- Kolb isnt bad, just needs more time. Wells needs to stay on the field for them to have a shot.
23) Minnesota- Pretty rough way to start the season. Could easily have been one of those suprise 3 and 0's.
24) Carolina- Cam.
25) Indianapolis- Played hard against Steelers, I would call David Garrard.
26) St. Louis- Bit of a sophmore slump so far for Bradford. He'll come around.
27) Cincinnati- Dalton to Green could get interesting down the road.
28) Jacksonville- I would have kept Garrard for a year and let Gabbert learn. Not from Garrard though.
29) Denver- Just play Tebow. Atleast the fans would be happy...for a while.
30) Kansas City- Bad luck with injuries isnt an excuse for terrible all around play.
31) Seattle- Need a lot of new parts, mostly QB. I'd give Whitehurst a shot.
32) Miami- Have talent. Every team in the NFL has talent.

I’ll take 2-1 though.
16) Atlanta- They just don’t seem right. They will get better, but it’s the Saints division to lose.
Could easily have been one of those suprise 3 and 0′s.
24) Carolina- Cam.
25) Indianapolis- Played hard against Steelers, I would call David Garrard.
26) St. Louis- Bit of a sophmore slump so far for Bradford. He’ll come around.
27) Cincinnati- Dalton to Green could get interesting down the road.
28) Jacksonville- I would have kept Garrard for a year and let Gabbert learn. Not from Garrard though.
29) Denver- Just play Tebow. Atleast the fans would be happy…for a while.
30) Kansas City- Bad luck with injuries isnt an excuse for terrible all around play.
31) Seattle- Need a lot of new parts, mostly QB. I’d give Whitehurst a shot.
32) Miami- Have talent. Every team in the NFL has talent.

Any concept of time? It hasn’t even been 20 years since their last SB. If you want to say 10 years, that’s reasonable, but please get a brain.

I understand we’re going to quibble about these, but this is probably the most off-base list I’ve seen in a long time.

—I don’t care if the Bills are 3-0. They are not the 5th best team in the league. Please.

—The Eagles at #21 is a joke. They lost Sunday on a blown tackle and a rookie LB biting on a wheel route. They were dominant in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. They have problems, but they also have arguably the best weapons in the league. And they are behind the Bears, Niners, Titans and Panthers LOL.

—No way the Lions should be 3rd. They are off to a great start, but 3rd?

—No way the Steelers should be in the top 10. The Colts (yes, the COLTS) came close to knocking them off.

I totally agree.

7thlombardi on the way is a troll steelers fan, ranking his steelers #1 and the ravens 31st? what an idiot. Even I know my bengals arent better than the ravens. Honestly, im just celebrating my 32nd ranked preseason bengals are creeping up and will eventually be about 18th
lol
I will say though, there is no other team in which the fans are so ignorant, rude, and outright troll masters as the steelers. Guess what steelers fans, the packers have as many rings as u do now, and they beat you in the SB, because you suck. Mike tomlin is ruining that team by drafting horribly and its finally going to show.

Funny how some fans call steeler fans "ignorant, rude & troll masters", take a look in the mirror "fans",cause what you're accusing other teams fans of doing, you're doing the same thing...."True fans" admit when our team was out played/out coached..like I was trying to say...
Get it??

Waaaay too much attention being paid to “7thlombardiontheway.” Do you guys know what a troll is? People are giving these long-winded, serious responses to someone who doesn’t even actually believe what he’s writing. His one and only goal is to annoy and elicit angry responses…. and so many people here are falling right into the trap. Duh.

Wanna annoy Mr. 7th right back? Don’t comment/answer any of his posts. Simple.
—————————————
Too bad you feel like it was long-winded..don’t read it then.DUH. I responded and I said how I feel about my team..This is a forum.Duh.
———————————————

Trust me- I *don’t* read them. I read the first couple lines, see that there’s 3 more paragraphs after that and think, “Poor sap. Another sucker who doesn’t understand how trollery works.”

PS- The space bar is your friend.

PPS- You probably are “7th,” answering your own posts.

Again Genius,"Don't read it", because obviously you really are.. Don't insult me with your silly comments, you're the obvious"TROLL". get a life and realize "the space bar may be my friend but the "X button " (close windows sign) is yours..calling someone names makes you just a bigger sap also..Again..I'll respond and if you don't like it then *don't read it*..get it ??

I can't decide whether I'd rather have both the Lions and the Pack sustain their unbeaten status until they play each other for the first time at Thanksgiving ..... or ..... whether I'd rather have the Lions drop a game or two along the way to open up a little breathing room in the standings. Obviously, that's not the universe of potential outcomes. A match of the unbeatens would sure be fun at Thanksgiving. Wow, what a game that would be !!!

I can't quibble with the Lions #3 ranking because team ebullience counts and they probably have plenty of that. Good for them!

At least they don't have anyone like Barry Sanders on their squad. I recall lots of painful games with the Pack trying to get a glove on Mr. Sanders before he was 8- 12 yards downfield.

Let me say this to Bills, Lions and Raiders fans:

First, these lists really mean nothing. Second, (to defend my arch enemy) a team like the Steelers are given the benefit of the a doubt because there is such a small sample of this season on display at this point. Teams that have won consistently, made the playoffs, or won championships are getting some loftier ratings. Those who have not had this type of consistent success for a few years are being ranked more harshly. Very understandable to me!

I am enjoying these perenial doormats rising up. I hope they continue do well.

Simple.

Too bad you feel like it was long-winded..don't read it then.DUH. I responded and I said how I feel about my team..This is a forum.Duh.
