Bandwagon jumpers?? Fair weather fans?? are you serious. Bengals fans haven't won a playoff game in over 20 years. there hasn't been fair weather. If anything, the fans have supported this team through tough years more than most any fans should.

This years drop in season ticket holders is a direct reflection on the fans being tired of Mike Brown. Sure some think that Palmer quit or he owes it to the team to complete his contract, but the fact is Mike Brown could get good draft picks to trade a guy that has done nothing but been a stand-up teammate and always put the blame on himself. If he's fed up with Mike Brown and the organization, I can't say I blame him.

If you want to see fair weather fans, look to Indy. They've had 10 straight years to the playoffs and a couple of bad years and fans won't even know the city has a football team.

---I don't hate the Steelers, i just hate their rude, obnoxious, arrogant, fat and ugly fans. ---

I don't want to hear the excuses from the Bengals fans, The Carson Palmer excuse is weak, I don't blame the owner one bit for refusing to trade him. He made a commitment to the team and was rewarded handsomely for his commitment.... It sure sounds like the 65 straight sellouts was fueled by bandwagon jumpers (it's not that hard to sell 65,000 tickets for a NFL game).
If you can only draw 40,000 for your home opener, you don't deserve a NFL team. Buffalo has put up with an inept franchise for the last 10 straight years (without a single trip to the playoffs) but we have sold 95 percent of our tickets over that period.

While there are a lot of empty seats this year, the season ticket base has dropped tremendously. As a result, the bulk of the unsold seats are held by the Bengals, rather than season ticket holders. As a result, there are fewer tickets for the ticket holder to sell to resellers. The average price for a nose-bleed seat is higher this year than last. Less supply = higher prices. Of course, the Bengals will be happy to sell you a ticket at face value.

savocabol1 says: Bungals only sold out because the opposing fans came to your games

Right, and NO fans of opposing teams ever buy tickets to games in other NFL cities either? So SF & SD & Oakland & Seattle & Miami & Houston fans just flock to our games by the multiple tens of thousands, right?

Plus, we've still got a base of somewhere around 40K SEASON TICKET HOLDERS (which was above 55K before this year with even a waiting list 2 years before that) & you're telling me they are ALL fans of other NFL teams in other NFL cities as well? It's just me and 60K+ fans of the other team in attendance every week?

Last home game I missed just so happened to be Dillon's breaking of Jim Brown's single-game record & all those fans of other teams I see every game sure must seem to feel the need to surreptitiously disguise themselves by wearing the Orange & Black??

I swear, some people wear their abject (& laughably easily exposed) sheer idiocy as some kind of demented badges of honor or something.

exactly, the past is for dead people. the new stadium will sell out on the pure basis of same sex couples like me and my b-friend. LA is superior to all other cities and is number one in everything.

not true and i am superior to a jaguar. jax has had blackouts and they tarp off seats. the fact is, LA has never blacked out any sport and has a perfect set of citizens that have proven themselves to deserve a football team. All visiting teams take note: Make sure your teams bring extra cameras and tv equipment to the stadium. My 9ers got screwed with an athletic TD from smith to crabtree, having it negated due to a mysterious penalty; that wasn’t challenged because there wasn’t a replay available until 4 plays later.

FOX really dropped the ball on that one..

Your team won the game. Quit whining

------------------------------

I'm not whining, and i know that penalties cannot be reviewable. I'm just pointing out that it was a blown call in a game where the defenses were playing their a$$es off; and that the call should have been a TD, which would then be subjected to review - like all scoring plays are this year. Regardless - it's a fact that due to the black out, the equipment the FOX brought along with them was so limited - that even if something needed to be challenged - there is not enough support to have instant replays.

In any case, you guys sure as heck didn't make it easy out there and it could've went either way. Considering the turnover on the team, and with young guys like Andy, and Smith - keep your heads up and be happy that you have a franchise caliber QB at the helm.

savocabol1 says: bengal’s[sic] fans are some of the most fair-weather fans in sports. no one should be suprised at this.

Would you mind giving some kind of logical support for this egregiously STUPID statement? A true lifer Bengal fan (since '68) & current season ticket holder like myself actually defines the opposite of "fair-weather", "frontruner" or "bandwagoner".

I support the entire NFL at large in addition to My Preciousss Tisssue Paper Tigerssss by attending. NFL pooled revenue-sharing ensures this. If YOU (if you even attend NFL games) want to take some responsibility to 'oppose' Mike F Brown then logically YOU need to boycott your own NFL games & NFL paraphernalia (which is also a revenue-shared commodity).

Not to even mention the bad economy of particularly southern Ohio being a major contributor (on top of any recent Bengal 'successes') to our just having a 57-game PBS home sellout streak broken just last dec 2o1o. This is how you define fair-weather??

savocabol1 says: bengal’s[sic] fans are some of the most fair-weather fans in sports. no one should be suprised at this.

Would you mind giving some kind of logical support for this egregiously STUPID statement? A true lifer Bengal fan (since ’68) & current season ticket holder like myself actually defines the opposite of “fair-weather”, “frontruner” or “bandwagoner”.

I support the entire NFL at large in addition to My Preciousss Tisssue Paper Tigerssss by attending. NFL pooled revenue-sharing ensures this. If YOU (if you even attend NFL games) want to take some responsibility to ‘oppose’ Mike F Brown then logically YOU need to boycott your own NFL games & NFL paraphernalia (which is also a revenue-shared commodity).

@billinlouisiana - Mikey Boy's kinescope system works perfectly fine.

It's Mike Brown pure and simple. It's such a catch-22 for the fans. Show up and give this guy your hard-earned money and enable him to keep doing what he does. Don't show up and your team is suddenlly put on the fast-track to Los Angeles. It's too bad the NFL can not do something about this guy. Cincinnati is a great football town (trust me, with Brown's track record that stadium never gets built in a huge number of NFL cities) - but at some point you reach a breaking point.

I hate it for the good young players we have (there are things to be encouraged about) and the top class guys they have like Whitworth. There needs to be a way to express that the discontent is with the owner and not them.
