APThe Titans brought in a slew of receivers for workouts this week in an effort to find someone to take Kenny Britt’s roster spot.
Ex-Titan Justin Gage was apparently the one they liked best, but Gage won’t be joining the team. David Glennon of the Tennessean spoke to Gage’s agent, who told him that he wasn’t able to agree to terms on a contract for his client’s return to Tennessee. It would be interesting to see how that conversation went, especially to hear if Titans G.M. Mike Reinfeldt did anything other than hang up the phone when informed that Gage wasn’t interested in continuing his career for the veteran minimum.
Reinfeldt and the team moved on Wednesday. They signed former Rams wideout Donnie Avery and placed Britt on injured reserve. Avery has worked out for several teams since being cut by the Rams during training camp. Avery, the top receiver selected in the 2008 draft, missed all of last season with a torn ACL and had 100 catches over his first two years with St. Louis.
David Clowney, Mardy Gilyard, Johnnie Lee Higgins, Tiquan Underwood, Buster Davis and Juaquin Iglesias were the other receivers to take a shot at landing a spot with the Titans.

The agent for “Justin 12 Gage ” dropped the ball on this one.
Just like Gage himself did on the field all the time.
Hope Donnie Avery has his speed back.
He was dangerous when healthy.

Umm…the story is about the Titans.
Not sure why the Rams released him..but I wish him the best of luck!
Why would he say no? Nobody else has any interest
hope he sticks with them. he was a beast as a ram when healthy.
titans need to keep tabs on britt at all times during his recovery. make sure his idiot ways are in the past.
Wow, I would imagine the next article is either “Justin Gage arrested for assault” or “Gage fires agent on Twitter”
The guy is sitting on his couch, yet his agent tries to come in with leverage and negotiate a deal for higher then the Vet minimum.
Horrible, horrible agent
Gage is holding out for a management position.
the man has some serious speed and good hands, hope he does well. surprised he wasnt signed earlier
Way to throw away several hundred thousand dollars.
Welcome to Tennessee Donnie, get open and Hasselbeck will find you.
That is quite a list of retreds. Have to say, very surprised teams looking for receiver help have not looked at Gurley and West off Packers practice squad? Both big, fast, sure handed receivers. Didn’t think either would make it to practice squad.
