APBill Belichick said Wednesday that letting go of Gerard Warren before the season was a “hard cut.”
On Wednesday, the team officially brought Warren back into the fold in an effort to help the league’s last-ranked defense.
Warren helps add depth to a group that was without Myron Pryor, Mike Wright, and Albert Haynesworth last week.
Pryor is out for the season and it’s uncertain when Haynesworth or Wright will return.
Who cares, the Raiders aren’t just going to run the ball on the Patriots, they’re going to tell them where the run is going and then pound it.
It’s finesse team against a bully and I love it.
Release Haynesworth and sign a worthy DL.
The pats need to stop toying with him, hes a really good guy to have on a team…Good pickup.
How much did BB give up for Haynesworth? Congratulations! You have the worst defense in the NFL!
BB defense genius = last place defense
Mike Martz offense genius = probably not last but bad…
I guess at least BB is trying to change his scheme to fit his players
they gave up almost nothing for Haynesworth.
As for Warren, he should have never been cut, but then again neither should Sanders. BB is a good coach, but I have serious issues with him as a GM. (and Im a pats fan)
Everybody in the room who thought New England’s defense could add Haynesworth, Ellis, and Carter, and be WORSE than last year, raise your hand……
Defense was a clear weak spot in 2010′s 14-2 team, and it’s a complete mystery how these guys didn’t strengthen this defense.
The secondary was always suspect, but without a pass rush to pressure a quarterback, those guys are looking even worse.
In Bill we trust, so we’ll have to have faith that they won’t be the worst ranked defense come December, though I can’t imagine how that’s going to happen.
here lets stab you in the back, and then shake your hands a few weeks later, and tell you everything is ok.
Seymour will have something to say about being stabbed in the back on Sunday. Would be nothing sweeter of a payback than putting Brady on the IR for the rest of the season. Then we can hear once again how Rich’s best days were behind him.
Go for blood…..GO Raiders
I guess Bart Scott was right. They CAN’T stop a nose bleed. *can’t wait!*

yeah and your defense looked so great last week right?
A 5th round pick and $1.5 million in base salary.
No doubt, a King’s Ransom for Albert Haynesworth.
Yeah, they’re defense is lousy thru 3 weeks.
But the most important part is there’s absolutely no chance they’ll improve over the next 13 weeks.
Please post less.

BB have to do something it not working the team can’t stop a wet nooggle.
Won’t help. These old fogies don’t do anything. Welcome to the worst defense in the NFL.
radrntn:
I couldn’t agree more, I love the aggressive penalties, they’re definitely worth it.
This team reminds me so much of the old school Raiders.
Just win baby!
@radrntn
You’re advocating for someone to get hurt? Real classy buddy, real classy.
some stupid comeback about belicheat, wives, cheating, blah blah blah won’t detract from the fact that you’re classless. It’s not a lesser of two evil’s type of thing here.
Raiders need to control the clock to win this game. Running will be a big part of that this weekend. at least 150-200 rushing yards and the Raiders will win this game. The best defense against Tom Brady is to keep him off the field.

The Pats are currently 10th in rushing defense, so the guys you mention are not the biggest issue (although we could still use a better pass rush, which would help the next comment some).
Now criticize the secondary, and you have no beef with me. We have needed improvement on that since 2006, and it has not gotten better.

And Green Bay has the 29th ranked D, the Titans
have the #1 ranked D.
It does not mean anything after 3 weeks.

There’s going to be injuries in this game, LOTS of them.
Deal with it.
Pats coming off a bad loss, Raiders coming off a big win. Watch out. I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
.
We’re in week 4. The Patriots have many new faces and schemes. You want your defense to gel and be at its best come December. There’s no reason to panic yet. What would it matter if they had given up 0 points and 0 yards to this point? Exactly.
.
Wow, only one cheating reference?? What’s going on?!?
Where are all the Steeler haters? They love to toss out cheater comments.
Hey guys, let’s stop with all of the “stay classy” or “real classy” comments. It’s getting so easy to find all the douche commenters because they always stay the same thing.
“Stay classy, *insert person or team name here*”
T-Jack is no Chad Henne. Pats win big, 28-24.
@rdrntn – Way to show a little class, buddy. Your ancient / senile owner has a lot more of it than you. That’s for sure.
And… Seymour had a great career with the Pats. I’m sorry they let him go, but most of their moves to let older guys go (Milloy, McGinest (huge fan), Vrabel, Moss, etc.) have worked out. He’ll be on the field in Foxboro in a few years accepting his induction into the Pats hall of fame, just like Bledsoe did a couple weeks ago. He won’t be wearing a Raiders jersey, either, buttmunch.
joetoronto and Raider nation guarantee a HUGE Raider win and a lot of bloody Pat’s on the field.
I love those big mouth guarantees. Can’t wait until after the game.
It doesn’t matter. I am convinced that the game has passed Belicheck by. This team is Tom Brady and not much else. They have had five years to fix this defence and it actually gets worse. Lawrence Taylor is not going to walk through Belicheck’s door any time soon.
Oh..and by the way I’m a life long Pats fan.
I bet if you put a dollar on the back of the opposing QB’s jersey Haynesworth would work harder to catch him…..definitely a good incentive for him.
Transitions just don’t come easy in the nfl BB should know that so the Raiders will bully them up.

Please show me where I said the Raiders would win, much less a “guarantee”, Ralphie. I don’t do that, I never have.
I’m telling you it’s gonna get ugly, really ugly, just the way we like it.
THAT’S what I’m telling you.
I love this. DMC might rush for 200.

Back in his days in Cleveland, Bill Belichick used to puck defensive players up off waivers, start them that Sunday and win the game.
Back in his days in Cleveland, Gerard Warren was a complete waste of a uniform and helmet.
I think Oakland has a lot more favorable match ups then people think in this game.. McFadden will get his touches, whether its screens, wildcat, etc. Bush mixed in will be an issue for Pats line… Play action will be an issue for Pats DBs as well, and they do not match up with Oaklands speed on offense and lack of a pass rush…
Brady’s quick passes will most likely negate Oaklands rush, and I could see some issues with the man coverage (although Holmes and Burress did almost nothing last week).. its what Buffalo did in 2nd half against them. They also ran out of 4/5 receiver formations which caused problems for Oakland.. It may be that a turnover or time of possession wins this game for the Raiders..

True. But, I’m willing to bet that this trend won’t improve much for NE. This pass happy offense and not much of D will meet playoffs with a thud in the first round.
I thought that the Pats no-name teams of the early 2000s were much better defensively and that’s why they won. This formula is reverse of that and while Brady will continue to light it up, come playoff time some opponent will crunch them again.
I love how pats fans cling to “10th ranked” run D. I bet any team who throws for 400+ yds week in and week out and averages 30 pts a game would have a high ranked rushing D. As long as the raiders don’t spot the pats points like the Bills did early, I see the possibility of 400+ yds of total offense from the raiders, 300 of which come on the ground. That ranking comes from playing Bush in week 1 and being in shoot outs the next 2 weeks. On Matthews 12 carries in week 2, he averaged 5.3 ypc. Freddie averaged 6.2 on 12 carries. McFadden already averages 7 ypc, whose to think he won’t continue that this week? This defense is WORSE than the numbers indicate, but in BB you trust, right? Again, as long as the Raiders don’t dig a hole, it’s not even close Oakland 30, NE 17.
Belicheat needs to go back to video tapping the other opponents offensive practices.

People who cheer for players to get injured are scum. Its stuff like this that makes the rest of the league laugh at you Raider fans. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised when you guys start stabbing each other in the parking lot.
The Patriots didnt stab Seymour in the back, they traded him. And I have NEVER read anything about the Patriots saying Seymour’s best days were behind him, it was fans and media who said that.

Buddy, you have some serious issues, better get it checked out, the sooner the better.
@AmPats
Commitment to failure? Umm the Raiders are 3-2 in Superbowls.. Same as the Patriots. Oh and the ones they did win? They weren’t by last second FGs.. You may want to revisit what you consider a failure.. Your own life for example.
uh, hate to add facts, but the Patriots are actually 3-3 in Superbowls, not 3-2. It actually would have helped your argument to be accurate on this one.
They lost to the Bears, Packers, and Giants. Beat Carolina, Philly, and St Louis.
I never understood the “they only won by last second FG’s” argument. Is that supposed to matter? Ill take the win, I dont care if its by last second safety.
