Dez Bryant remains out of practice

Dallas Cowboys v New York Jets Getty Images

If Dez Bryant is going to play at less than 100% again this week, he will have to do it without the benefit of practice.

Bryant sat out Friday’s session with a bruised thigh once again.  He missed Thursday’s session after a “limited” practice Wednesday. Bryant was wearing a tank top and carrying his shoes as the last player to be at Cowboys practice Friday, according to ESPNDallas.com.

After talking to head coach Jason Garrett, Bryant retreated to the locker room to get a long sleeve shirt.  We’ll late you know later if he adds a hoodie.

It looks quite possible that both Miles Austin and Bryant will miss this game.  Even if Bryant plays, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be close to full speed.  That makes four straight weeks Bryant hasn’t been 100%.  Felix Jones will continue to play thr0ugh his dislocated shoulder.

To hell with the NFL wide receiver “diva” tag…..This clown has the NBA “got paid, don’t have to work tag”….Oh wait, Cowboys will tell us all again how he’s a beast……

Dez Bryant = China Doll, Prima Dona

Felix Jones = Tough Guy, Team Player

Damn, 4 weeks is 1/2 the time of a BROKEN LEG.

I wonder if it’s something more than a thigh bruise… is the the same leg as last year??

Though I agree that Bryant has been hurt too often, he did come up with a huge play last week to help win the game. Jones toughness has really surprised me, compared to the last 2 seasons. I hope that Bryant realizes that he needs to play at a high level this Sunday or his team will be in trouble. There is so far talent will take a player, desire is a huge part of the equation.

    Dez is soft

Dez Bryant wasn’t at full speed against the Redskins but managed to make a 30 yard catch against 100% full speed DeAngelo Hall to set up the game winner.

“We talkin’ about practice man…not a game not a game…..practice. How silly is that.”

I love Detroit fans this year… just remember guys… the higher you climb the harder you fall. Happens to us Vikings fans all the time (see 1969, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1987, 1998, 2000 and 2009 for reference).

Man with Dez I thought the cowboys had a slim chance to win, now no Dez…

I absolutely cannot wait to watch the Lions completely destroy Gomer Pile and the Cowpatties. This has been a long time coming for The most overhyped team of the last decade.

Man, Dez’s act has already worn thin. No wonder a handful of teams had him entirely off their draft boards. Injury-riddled, immature headcase. That said, go Cowboys.

  14. igster1 says: Sep 30, 2011 2:16 PM

hell dez was good enough to whip the deadskins a** while hurt. just think what he would have done if he had been full speed.

  15. johnnyjagfan says: Sep 30, 2011 2:17 PM

Everyone’s sitting here trashing Dez and all he did was go play with an injured quad (think those matter to WR’s?) and now he’s taking it easy through practice. He caught a long pass on Monday night (so he’s on a short week anyway) to set up a game winning FG. So what if he’s not practicing? If he’s hurt & he plays Sunday with no practice, he’ll be fresher and faster. He’s alright. Playing hurt seems to be the Cowboy way this year and its ballsy.

This is such a waste of talent. When is rarely if ever at 100% he is amazing, but Im tired of waiting on him to pan out.

The last ray of hope is that Michael Irvin did take 3 season before he ever produced. Of course he tore his ACL in year 2?

I am rooting for Dez, but he is not too bright.

By the way Felix was worth the first round pick. He is a true professional and earning big point inside and outside the locker room. This also goes for ROMO. IF Dallas can go into the bye at 3-1 they have shot at the playoffs. I like the new make up of the team that Garrett is putting together. I also like the young guys that play their tails off vs. Roy Williams, Barber, Gurode, Davis, Columbo, and Olshanski….All Wade Phillips guys that were all about entitlement!

    GO BOYS!

americas team overrated? five rings is hardly overrated. “HOW ‘BOUT THEM COWBOYS” lions are going down just like the deadskins. and i mean dead

i’d say williams was a jerry jones guy, barber was a parcells guy, gurode was a campo guy, colombo was a parcells signing. only phillips guy was olshansky.

have a clue sir. i would have much rather had gurode out there last sunday than costa.

Five rings means nothing to this team because they won nothing last season. Quit living in the past.

If Bryant doesn’t play, you got Witten and ……… ???

    Yeah…Good luck with that.

  20. dirtydrynn27 says: Sep 30, 2011 3:10 PM

Yes But those rings were won years ago! You guys are all the time talking about how bad the Redskins are but last year Dallas record was the same as the lowly redskins……When you go 6 and 10 after being hyped up to win it all,I would say thats a very over rated team!!!!! Do you really think those Cowgirls are gonna beat the Lions??? I would`nt bet on it! You barely got by the Redskins and your so called high power offense didnt even manage to score a TD!!!!!

  21. 07black350z says: Sep 30, 2011 3:45 PM

Lol…dez has been in the league for a little over one season…and people are tired of waiting?? Get real…the kid had more touchdowns in half a season last year (and jon kitna) than a lot of other healthy wide receivers.. dez will play Sunday whether he practices or not, like the other injured cowboys..say what you want but there’s no denying the new sense of toughness around this team.

What have you done for me lately? Your team’s past is part of the reason your team is overrated… This season, you guys are a midrange team. The Lions hype train is just in full speed, but after the first loss it’ll be derailed. But that loss isn’t coming this week.

Look for Tony “Nails” Romo to once again hoist this team on his shoulders and lead the Cowboys to another improbably victory.

NO it will derail when Demarcus meets and greets Mr. Stafford or when Matthew gets hurt again. The Chiefs and Vikings are hardly great teams. The Chiefs game was somewhat impressive vs. an injured team but the “sweat of the brow” win against the Vikings after they were ruining you guys was questionable. Win or lose, we’ll know a lot more about both teams after this weekend.
