Dwayne Bowe said slow start was to be expected

The way Dwayne Bowe sees it, the team’s slow start to the season was easy to see coming. After all, the team didn’t have any offseason practices.

“Without having (offseason practices), we’ve got to somewhat expect a slow start. Now we’re just putting the pieces together, and that’s going to help us win this game. We’re just waiting for Sunday to come,” Bowe said via the Kansas City Star.

Um Dwayne? No team had offseason practices. But only one team is last in points scored and “first” in points allowed.

“I’m not saying it’s a big factor, but timing is key. Not having that, you can kind of expect a slow start,” Bowe said.

We don’t think Bowe is referring to coach Todd Haley’s early low-key approach to training camp. This seems more like a case of futilely trying to explain the unexplainable: How did the Chiefs get so bad, so fast?
