McGahee likely to start again for Broncos

Denver Broncos' McGahee celebrates with teammates after scoring a touchdown against Cincinnati Bengals during their NFL football game in Denver Reuters

Willis McGahee and Knownshon Moreno haven’t exactly been the 1-2 combination John Fox was hoping for early this season.

Moreno hasn’t stayed healthy (again) and McGahee is averaging 2.9 yards-per-carry as the team’s primary back. Moreno returned to practice this week, but he’ll stay in a reserve role according to the Denver Post.

Denver wanted to sign DeAngelo Williams this offseason, but settled for McGahee.

The Broncos also hope to get Elvis Dumervil, Champ Bailey, and linebacker D.J. Williams back this week.

What a backfield, Willis “I’m the best, but I can’t prove it” McGahee and NoShow Moreno.

It’s a fight to the bottom between the Donkeys and the Kansas City Cheapskates.

I’m so glad Fox is your problem now

Denver used to be known for getting the most out of their backs…Some RBs had great seasons there and then were practically never heard from again. What happened?

DeAngelo’s stats are much, much worse and he’s getting paid much, much more. Denver should be glad they dodged that bullet. McGahee can be dumped after this season. Williams will be raking in the dough for many more seasons.

You could very well be right.

McGahee didn’t last on bad Buffalo teams. He once touted himself as an “Elite” RB. He’s like Haynesworth-Lite…he just does what he needs to to get by!!

But in the only system Fox knows is the one DeAngelo excels at

I just remember the draft when knowshon was a can’t miss back and all my fellow eagles fans were so disappointed we got shady instead. Just another example of how dumb are local sports talk radio guys are. They convinced this fan base knowshon was going to be great and that shady was just another guy. Of course now an argument can be made shady is just behind AP for the best back in the NFL and considering shady’s pass catching abilities he may even be the beat back in the NFL.

What a crap shoot the draft is. I can’t believe people are really arguing for a lottery.

    Ban Philly sports talk radio!

    Totally agree with you.

At the time and still to this day Denver needed D and we drafted Knowshon with the 12th pick. I hated the pick and hate it more now. Our Scrub Lance Ball is a ton more better than him. Should be Ball and McGahee. JMD ruined the Broncos that has led us to be on edge all the time due to where sick of losing. Tough job for the John’s to clean up. If Knoshon has a chance at all to make some noise, he will have to be a 3rd down back. Use him in the passing game, get him in the open field.
