That said, I think the idea of having the refs forced to attend a post-game press conference is an *excellent* idea. The players are not allowed to dodge the press, or they can be fined. Why shouldn’t the officials be required to talk about their jobs, too? They are an intrinsic part of the game. I don’t understand why officials get away without having to deal with the press. Baseball umpires talk to the press, football referees should, too.
