We told you on Friday that Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas was unlikely to play for Miami this week.

The Dolphins made it official Saturday by downgrading Thomas from questionable to out, while also ruling out a more important Dolphin.

Cornerback Vontae Davis was also ruled out despite participating in limited fashion in practice all week. Lineacker Koa Misi is also out. This Dolphins team was counting on Davis and Sean Smith to lead a promising secondary, but Davis has missed two straight games.

Only two teams have given up more yards than the Dolphins early this season. It’s a perfect week for Philip Rivers to break out of his mini-slump.
