Eight Colts are questionable for Monday night

Kerry Collins AP

As the Colts prepare to return to Tampa for the first time since an epic Monday night game eight years ago, eight members of the team are listed as questionable.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that quarterback Kerry Collins, who apparently has a concussion, hasn’t been ruled out for the game.  He’s officially listed as questionable with a head injury.  The team has not specifically said that Collins suffered a concussion last Sunday night, but coach Jim Caldwell has suggested that Collins is suffering concussion-like symptoms.

The Colts already have said that Curtis Painter will be the starting quarterback.

Also questionable is defensive end Dwight Freeney (ankle), defensive back Antoine Bethea (ankle), tackle Ryan Diem (ankle), tight end Brody Eldridge (knee), defensive tackle Fili Moala (ankle), offensive lineman Joe Reitz (ankle), and linebacker Ernie Sims (knee).

Freeney practiced fully on Friday and Saturday.  He did not practice on Thursday.

I’m honestly not very familiar with the Bucs, except to know that I like Freeman and Blount. How are their tackles? I can see Freeney and Mathis just going absolutely nuts out of sheer frustration and anger.

It’s weird to see the Colts so bad, and actually a little disheartening.

    Oh well.

Alright, so we got no QB, no offensive line, no running game, great D-ends (though Freeney is questionable), no LB’s with Brackett out for the year, and no secondary with Bullitt out for the year and Bethea questionable. Oh yeah, we’re also on the road….Bucs by 45 :(

Did you think the day would ever come where watching the Colts on Monday night would be a snooze fest?

    Loose lips sink ships.

I’ve downloaded the 2003 game from TYT and will play that on my TV from 8:30pm, Monday.

    Move em to LA!

Every last Colts player could be 100% and it wouldn’t make a damn bit of difference without #18 on the field.

Two weeks in a row on national TV???
I know the network could not have predicted this, but this is as boring as it gets…The colts are probably already eyeing the 1st pick in next years draft(Luck), so why try to win…

Anyone that says the Colts have no linebackers obviously hasn’t watched Pat Angerer play and has no idea as to what constitutes a quality player.

  12. huejackson says: Oct 1, 2011 11:37 PM

this is the reason why Peynton MAnning is the best qb in the NFL..He really calls the plays he is the whole team. Pats played good with the bum cassell
but Pats also cheat so they can win with anyone.
The Colts coach is horrible he only got the job because he is black which is a damn shame.. That rule is totally racist and not fair..If a team wants a coach they should be able to get that coach…If the you are a good coach u will get a job no matter what color you are just look at the future greatest head coach of all time Hue Jackson..
Dungy sucks by the way, he is a failure in life and in football

Do they need be so obvious in the Luck sweepstakes?

  14. popolover says: Oct 1, 2011 11:44 PM

This is classic Polian. Putting as many players as he can on questionable. Exactly the way a HOF exec behaves.

Good luck Caldwell. Polian is paving your way out.

This is SUCK FOR LUCK training.

Why are you calling the 2 prime time games in a row boring? Did you not see the Colts/Steelers game? Seemed pretty exciting to me.

Season is over anyway might as well tank the season.

Why is nobody talking about the Jags as a possible team picking first overall? Wouldn’t call them the favorite, but that team is going nowhere FAST.

  22. pacificnw7722 says: Oct 2, 2011 12:51 AM

That picture of Collins looks like an OLD retired guy on a boat having a bad day on the lake.

We’ve got no quarterback, no defensive line, OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLIN OFF!!!

  24. bigred12 says: Oct 2, 2011 1:23 AM

I’ve always kinda liked the Colts, but its B.S. how they abuse the injury report. What’s the point if they’re just going to list all of their injured players as questionable, regardless of how injured they are or how likely they are to play?

It’s a good thing Freeney practiced this week, or he might have forgotten how to do his spin move.

  27. packerman1968 says: Oct 2, 2011 8:57 AM

Even with Manning I am not sure this would be a good team.

Father time has caught up with them.

  28. pastabelly says: Oct 2, 2011 9:04 AM

With Manning, they could go 9-7 or 8-8. I hope the Seahawks suck more Luck.

  29. 3octaveFart says: Oct 2, 2011 9:23 AM

They’re just bailing from the sinking ship.
    Can’t say I blame them.

This post shows so much ignorance it isn’t even funny. Looks like it was written by a 4th Grader. He obviously has no football knowledge either.

    ———————————————-

Jacksonville has lost to the Jets and Panthers, with the Panthers loss being solely to bad coaching. They also beat a Titans team that beat the Ravens.

I would definitely hold off on calling the Jaguars a first draft pick caliber team.

  32. dolphins4 says: Oct 2, 2011 10:47 AM

Maybe they can go bring Brett Favre back to help them out.

  33. nsideindy says: Oct 2, 2011 12:50 PM

@huejackson – i can picture you now…sitting there with a blanket and a cat in your lap eating a TV dinner watching reruns of “All in the Family.” You are a loser.

  34. tommytd says: Oct 2, 2011 12:51 PM

Better sit ‘em all down so they can rest up for the playoffs! LOL

  35. jasonculhane says: Oct 3, 2011 1:21 PM

This is all Polian’s doing. Caldwell is basically Jim Mora 2.0. I can’t believe the Ravens can get basically recover from losing two lineman, snag a couple through free agency and still run the ball effective, meanwhile the Colts just refuse to do it, can’t see it, or is just stupid.

There is a typo in the headline for this post. I think you meant to put “The” instead of “Eight”.
