Although the gestures by Suh & Best are honorable ……. This ‘love affair’ the media has with the Lions is only serving to set up the Lions & their fanbase for the ‘big fall’ …… Soon we will read how the Lions seemingly can ‘walk on water’ (per the media) …… It’s getting over the top & quite nauseating …….

Got news for you, dude. EVERY team experiences “the big fall” at some point during the season except 1. It’s not what happens at the end as much as it is about the journey.

It’s sad when jealous fans of other teams that suck come out of the woodwork to bash a good team with a good story.

Good on Suh and Best!! It is good to see him use his foundation for a good cause. After all what better cause is there than the development of our future, be they future NFL players or just a bunch of kids learning what it is to be a good sport and a part of something bigger than themselves.

He was selected by the Lions with the 30th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

I found that on a google search lol. Last I checked 30th is still in the first round.

As a Lions fan of 22 agonizing years, I have said since the offseason this year that I would know the Lions were finally becoming a good team when all the haters showed up to every single article on the Lions, no matter what it was about. Kind of like they do for the Patriots, Packers and Steelers, etc.

I no longer need any polls claiming the Lions as #3 or stats or wins. This is a story about Suh and Best helping out a high school football team that was robbed. Nothing more, nothing less. And at least half the comments are spewing hatred for the Lions and Suh, calling him “dirty”, etc.

Once again, armchair NFL fans, if Suh is dirty then everybody is dirty. I’ve still never had anybody take my challenge to find any player, past or present, and coach, aside from Dungy saying he has to tone it down a bit eventually, or any GM, HOFer, etc ever say anything but glowing recommendations as him being the best, or soon to be best, D-lineman in the NFL. That says it all.

As for the Lions hate……I love it!!!! I’ve been waiting to be the “hated” team for many years. After Dallas, look at the schedule. If we win this game, we’re going 6-0 before there’s even the chance of a loss (sorry Chicago, you’re getting killed on MNF) in week 7 versus the Falcons. Get ready for a lot more talk on the Lions being real people!!!

You obviously have no clue. Just as one example: The owner of the New England Patriots Robert Kraft and his wife who just passed away are LEGENDARY for their philanthropy. This is by no means an isolated case. All of the owners donate large sums of money to charities on a regular basis. Your comment indicates a few things; that you’re totally ignorant of the truth; that you don’t care about the truth…or; that you’re a corporation hating, socialist leaning, union member. My guess is that it’s all of the above.

Great work Suh and Best. There’s lots of guys in the NFL who do things like this and these acts deserve more recognition rather than just hearing about the illegal and idiotic things certain players do.

Also, are people seriously complaining about the media talking about Detroit? Seriously??? Does anyone know how long it’s been since the media talked about the Lions in a positive light? It’s about time. They’re earning it.

It’s not like it came out of his pocket. If you dig deeper you’ll find out that his foundation contacted others and worked with them to make donations. Not that that’s a bad thing, it just is what it is.

No, they were informed by Suh’s sister, the director of his foundation, you uninformed person. If the press didn’t find out about it until later, why was the press there taking pics and shooting video as Suh handed the stuff out? I mean, good on him for helping these kids out but like I said, lots of players give back and don’t feel the need to make a big “look at me” deal out of it.
