Raider fan here… Nice win by the Pats. They took advantage of every opportunity the Raiders gave them, which is what good teams do.
The Raiders are not quite ready to “beat the best if they want to be the best”.
Still a work in progress…

There’s at least ONE true football fan in Oakland after all?

You should be very proud. Who’s paranoid? You really think it’s only Pats fans that think you’re an idiot? Don’t sell yourself short, you’re nationwide.

___
I NEVER sell myself short, son. And why would I give a rat's patootie what you New England losers think, about me or anyone else. That goes double for any of the other idiot fan bases here. Of course, that assumes that these supposed haters of me can actually "think" on their own, as opposed to drinking the koolade served by their respective teams. Glad to know that I really get under your skins though. Shows how insecure you really are, particularly the Pats fans base, who can't even take it when others continue to repeat the truth (e.g., Spygate, etc).

You are nothing but a punk, teddiesmurf. Plenty here would agree with me on that one.

@bozo:

There aren’t enough Pats fans in the New England area to account for your ‘thumbs down’ totals. You’re clearly regarded as one of the most obnoxious, idiotic posters on this site. With all due respect to 6ringsof steel.

__
All that is obvious to anyone here is that you New England losers can't take any sort of criticism whatsoever. Biggest wusses on PFT (or elsewhere). And the 'Thumbs Down" totals can be manipulated, idiot. Not to mention that anyone who relies on the "Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down" button for any sign of validity in their life has a much bigger problem, specifically that they have no life outside of the Internet. Congrats, loser Pats fans...you officially have no life.

No walkthrough tape doesn't mean that they didn't tape it. The Pats personnel was there and they set up the taping equipment, but years later in the NFL investigation the Pats personnel claim the cameras didn't have batteries so there was no way they couldn't have taped the walkthrough. Not buying it. And ofcourse no smoking gun, so BB isn't admitting to anything. He only ever fessed up to what he got caught doing red-handed.

Look BB lied and cheated for years. He was the ONLY coach who "didn't understand" that rule. And then after getting caught he did a cover-up. His denials can't be believed and there is more than sufficient evidence for doubt.

For sure, the Patriots are a great football team and Tom Brady will be in the HOF one day. But those championships are tainted. The fact that they haven't won any since, despite being dominant in 3 of the 4 seasons since getting caught is telling.

you really are delusional. where to start? in 2006 and 2007 you guys were good but couldn't tape signals and didn't win a championship. it doesn't matter how many points who scored in the second half of what game. matt walsh never talked about what he had or didn't have cuz he was afraid of legal action cuz he said he could possibly get in trouble for stealing material when he got fired in the winter of 2002-2003. harrison got caught taking steroids and we see how much that helped him. then you bring up things like you have the whole conversation, just claims you keep making without any merit, which shows that you have no basis in your whole argument. i'm done wasting my time with people who have know idea what they are talking about

Um, they were the number 1 scoring defense in 2003, and the number 1 scoring defense in 2004. I think that's a little better than decent. Once again "Justthefacts", you have no facts.

And the 2007 defense was covered up by the fact that the Patriots were getting up 21-0 on teams and forcing them to go one dimensional. Take a look at the 2006 AFCCG against the Colts, where they gave up 32 second half points.

John Tomase wrote an article (and apologized later for it) that the Patriots had taped the Rams walkthrough, and Matt Walsh had the tapes of it. THIS WAS PROVEN FALSE. HE HAD NO RAMS WALKTHROUGH TAPE. DO YOU UNDERSTAND, FINALLY?

Besides, look at your comment. "There was no proof they DIDN'T tape the Rams walkthrough." So I can just throw out an accusation, anyone I want, and because you can't prove it, it's true?

I say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheated for their 2002 title. They taped signals and did steroids. I mean, there's no proof that they didn't do these things!

mrconnors, do you even understand what you're saying? if not here it is:

average offense, decent defense, taping opponents defensive signals to help average offense = championships.

best offense in the history of the game, top 5 (#4) defense in the league that year, no taping opponents defensive signals = no championship.

further, there was not any proof that the pats didn't tape the rams walkthrough prior to the superbowl of the 2001 season. the tapes that the pats turned over to goodell were from 2006 and the preseason of 2007.

there isn't any reason to keep evidence around for years to collect dust and wait for the commissioner to come asking for them.

to further drive home the point that the pats had been taping signals for quite some time is the fact that mangini called them out on it in 2007. and he started coaching the jets in 2006. when mangini blew the whistle he said it was common practice for the pats to videotape signals.

i'll connect the dots for you. pats get caught for taping signals and have a few reg season game tapes from 2006 and 1 preseason 2007 tape along with their taping of the jets in the opener. mangini blows whistle on pats in 2007 after opener, saying he knows it's been going on for a while and is common practice. pats turn over tapes from 2006-07. if they only had tapes from those 2 years mangini wouldn't say it was common practice and has been going on for a while or have any idea that it happened against him in the opener.

so mrconnors, when you try to make a point, please have your facts straight and don't let your fandom blind you. it is impossible to dispute the facts, which you apparently know nothing about.

mrconnors, I don't even know where to start with you. How about I'll just start and end with 2007 and 2010 since you brought them up.

Record points season and historically efficient, you say?

I say: 18-1. And that '1' was a big one.
I say: 0. Number of Super Bowls you guys have won since you got caught cheating (including those two "phenomenal" seasons of '07 and '10).

And now you see what everyone else saw all along, "man it's hard to win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years without cheating."

Forgot to add, without those mystical, game changing defensive signals, Tom Brady goes out and throws for 50 touchdowns and breaks the NFL scoring record. And then follows it up with a solid 2009 and historically efficient 2010 with 36 TD's and 4 picks. This season he'll probably throw somewhere around 4600 yards, 38 touchdowns, and maybe 10 picks.

Yep, the Patriots offense is lost without spygate.

Justthefacts, you obviously don't watch the games, allow me to help. Tom Brady against the Rams threw for 140 yards, and the offense scored one touchdown. The Patriots defense scored a touchdown off of a Kurt Warner pass and held the Greatest Show on Turf to 17 points. Vinatieri kicked two FG's including the game winner. Howoever you want to rank the 3 phases, offense is last.

I'll give Brady credit for having a good game against the Panthers. It became a shootout. I mentioned steroids because the Panthers were busted taking them before SB38, I just find it funny that no one mentions this.

The Patriots offense against the Eagles sputters again, going 3 and out a whole bunch of times, while the defense forces 4 turnovers. If I remember correctly, the Patriots didn't have a scoring drive past the 50 and got basically all of their points off of those turnovers.

That's just the Super Bowl games. You can throw in the Steelers 2001 title game where the special teams scored two touchdowns and the Patriots offense had about a whopping 250 yards total. Or the Titans game where they scored 17 points. Or the Colts game where Ty Law picked off Manning quite a few times. And so on.

The games are there. Watch them. And I'm aware that Brady was the starter after Bledsoe got hurt. But since you didn't watch, you wouldn't know that Bledsoe came in against the Steelers after Brady got hurt in the 2001 AFCCG.

mrconnor, you obviously do not know how to interpret data, allow me to help. You claim that their defense did not stink. They were only ranked better than their offensive counterparts one time in 4 superbowl years (that's 25% for you slow patriots fans). Also you claim that spying did not help them. You must not understand football is a game of centimeters and inches and any edge helps, especially if you know what your opponent is going to do before they do it. As the historian you claim to be, you should remember that Belichek didn't put Bledsoe back in the lineup when he was healthy because Brady was playing so well. Then you mention steroids. What about your safety who was juiced up and couldn't guard a special teams player if his life depended on it (or to win a superbowl).

Forthelove, posting rankings of the Patriots offense (you know, the side of the ball they were "cheating" on, and "knew every call") at being 19, 17, and 7 doesn't exactly help your case. They were only 7 because they got 1600 yards from Corey Dillon.

Wow, everyone, the Patriots taping defensive signals was the reason they won those titles! I mean, they had the 19th ranked offense in 2001! And they scored 3 offensive touchdowns in three games in the playoffs! Drew Bledsoe was clearly cheating when he went 10-21 for 100 yards against the Steelers! Brady torched the Rams for 140 yards! They NEVER would have got this without spygate!

You asked how bad the offense was without spygate? Well, they only broke the record for points in a season in 2007 and were historically efficient in 2010. You know, without those magic signals. What a huge advantage it was.

Pats won the super bowl in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

offensive ranking: 19, 17, 7
defensive ranking: 24, 7, 9

2007: no cheating and still cant win, even with their best team
o: 1
d: 4

How is it that the offense was terrible and the defense was the only thing that carried them through again?

Wow you Pats fans get personal really quick when people point out your team hasn't won a Super Bowl since they weren't allowed to cheat.

You say they can't win a Super Bowl anymore because they're defense stinks. The defense has been more than serviceable the past several years (only exception being so far this year).

You say that the offense was garbage even though they were taping defensive signals. I suppose this is to imply that they gained nothing from cheating. Then how bad would they have been if they weren't taping?? And wasn't Brady Mr. Clutch? How many clutch drives did he have at the end of the game?!

If (as you claim) defense and special teams is all it takes to win a Super Bowl, and the "crappy" NE offense had nothing to do with it, why the Ravens only win one and the Steelers only win 2 in the past decade, while the Patriots won 3 in 4 years. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
