Justin Tuck said Friday that if he got on the plane to Arizona, he would play against the Cardinals.

It appears that he was incorrect. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Giants defensive end will miss his second game of the season on Sunday afternoon. Tuck has been battling groin and neck injuries all week and only practiced in a limited fashion on Friday. Tuck also missed the season opener against the Redskins with a neck injury.

It’s not all bad news for the Giants defensive line, however. Schefter also reports that Osi Umenyiora will make his 2011 debut against the Cardinals. Umenyiora chose to have knee surgery during training camp and has missed all three games so far this season. Umenyiora said Friday that he did not expect to have any limitations on his play if he was in the lineup, but it remains to be seen how far he can go with only one week of full practice under his belt.
