Roethlisberger gets x-rays, walking boot after game

Ben Roethlisberger was beat up by Houston’s surging defense all Sunday, resulting in a foot injury.

The Steelers quarterback got x-rays after the game and left the stadium in a walking boot.

Roethlisberger said he was hurt on the second to last drive of the game, but he struggled to walk after the game.  The Steelers return home to face the 3-1 Titans next week.

Normally I never applaud player injury, but for ole Rapeface Roethlisberger, I make an exception.

So, was he injured the entire game? ;)

    As a Raven fan…Thanks Houston!

The Steelers defense looks old and slow. Their linebackers and defensive line get no pressure on the quarterback and teams are running over them. Looks like Warren Sapp knew what he was talking about. Big Ben has had a terrible year. The national press gives Ben free pass.

  11. agent6burgh says: Oct 2, 2011 5:41 PM

The only reason Houston won is due to Pittsburgh’s disgusting O-line. If Ben had the time that Matt Scrubb had he can easily shred that Texans defense like a head of lettuce. Why was Houston scoring 30+ points per game – until today’s game , barely got half of 30 – its called the Steeler defense !!!!

  12. kyleortonsarm says: Oct 2, 2011 5:43 PM

I hope they have to amputate.

  13. peytonwantsaflag says: Oct 2, 2011 5:44 PM

He’ll be fine, Dan Dierdorfff will carry him home- Ben’s gonna have to navigate though cause Dan’s head is so far up PigBen’s colon he can’t see anything.

  14. occamssabre says: Oct 2, 2011 5:45 PM

The Stoolers were lucky they were even in that game at the end. Big Ben is a tough SOB and he’s the only reason they aren’t a 6-8 win team per year!

If you’ve seen the game you wouldn’t ask this question. The game could have very well been 34-10. There were many big plays called back because of penalties. I don’t know how many penalties were called on Houston, but there were too many.

The Steelers defense is still good. But it is down a notch from previous years. And, yes, it is slower.

Nobody but nobody but NOBODY hangs a sweet, sweet, sweet sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet sweet, sweet, sweet,
……. 10 points like Small Ben in Big Games Roethlisberger!

10 POINTS!!!! Is that some kind of record?

How much worse could Batch or Leftwich or Dixon or ….. even J.P. Losman do?

When the Steeler defense can’t hold the other team to 10 points or get a defensive score Roethlisberger CANNOT get the win.

10 points against the team that just gave up 40 top the Saints last week?

    Bring on Batch!!!

Oh no! Our opponents have figured out to cripple us this year! ‘Accidental’ knee tackles! We are doooomed!

  19. ppdoc13 says: Oct 2, 2011 6:30 PM

Hey – where is 7thlombardi or whatever name he has picked today???? Wake up moron, isn’t it time for the SFL to open up? It’s the only way you or your team will win a championship this year. Let’s see you come onto this discussion and open your mouth with something other than your standard garbage.

    Now, onto real discussion.

If they don’t do a better job of protecting Jen, he is not going to make it through this season. He was taking some hellacious hits. Had not the refs been wearing black and gold the score after the first half would likely have been somewhere in the 30’s for the Texans. They had an inordinate number of penalties compared to the Steelers.

When is someone who is a talking head make mention of how many tackles Troy P is missing now? He not only has lost a step, he may have lost 2. The only saving grace for the Steelers right now is the kid Mike Wallace. That guy is really, really, good.

I used to always be worried about the Steelers in the AFCN. Not this year. If the Ravens don’t win the AFCN it is because they blew it and let the Steelers have the division.

The truth of the matter is that this edition of the Steelers is frankly only average. I know it hurts Steelers fans, but it is the truth. Take it from one of your biggest rivals. You just don’t have it this year. And your major problem is that the things that need to be addressed, can not be addressed in season. You need to get younger and faster like the Ravens did this year. The only way to do that is through the draft. But at the same time you need major work on the offensive line. The only piece of the OL worth keeping right now is your center.

This may be wishful thinking on my part, but it would not surprise me in the slightest if the Browns came in second behind the Ravens this year. Sorry Deb, but your front office really let you down this year and Ben can’t do it by himself. In fact, when he tries to do too much he makes mistakes like he did this afternoon.

It would be nice if any of the people that posted here had the smallest bit of class. Making fun of people that are hurt. I think that is the one of the first sign of a sociopath. Hope that never happens to someone that you love.

Can’t believe nobody said it yet, but from the picture it looks like Big Ben is the one being raped this time lol

Steeler fans. This team is 2-2 after 3 road trips to start the year. things will be fine. The run d needs work, but the pass d is much better. Offensively they will be fine too, with redman in they showed flashes of a run first team, before we start talking doomsday remember this Green Bay had to get hot at the end of the season to make the playoffs and look what they did. Steeler nation take a deep breath and tip your caps to a playoff team. Our pass d held a great texans passing game in check. They made a few more plays than us. Steelers are fine, and (ben will be there)

Wow…a lot of comments from the shallow end of the gene pool. It’s week 4 morons, you made the same statements last year in the preseason.

If Flacco was hit the same way Roethlisberger was hit the last two weeks you’d be whining about how the NFL is out to get you.

21 and 13 ex-Browns, 21 and 13…how many seasons to pull even? How about NEVER!

  24. Deb says: Oct 2, 2011 8:20 PM

Yeah, the class of PFT posting here …

citizenstrange, are you kidding? Did you catch the offensive-line play or were you cleaning out your lobotomy scar? I’m sure Leftwich would have done a great job with his broken arm. Given Charlie’s age and mobility, that suggestion is sadistic. But sure, bring on Dixon. I’d rather we didn’t kill the multi-million-dollar QB since we’re clearly not going to protect him.

    OJ’s not a murderer.

And by the way, it’s “you’re” when you mean “you are”.

    @agent6burgh

You know , if you guys would have scored more points than Houston , you guys would have won . I cant believe the audacity of such a team as the Texans not laying down and saying here’s the game steel bags .. . . . Steelers are going to have an even worse game this week at the Titans – You guys had your pants pulled down by the Ravens , and we bitch slapped the shyt out of the Ravens …. Sleep on the Titans if you will , but it wont make the outcome any different .
