Another “holier than thou” post from the legendary Deb.

Why would I think Omar Kelly was white? Well, first of all, at least four posters ahead of me mentioned him being white, and being that I don’t live in Miami and I’m not familiar with the Dolphins beat writers, why would I challenge that?

All of which ignores the fact that it doesn’t MATTER that Kelly is black. Burnett called another man “boy”. Not just “homeboy”, but BOY.

I know you think you’re an expert on everything, Miss Deb, but the one thing you CAN’T be an expert on is being a “guy”, and when one guy calls another guy “boy”, there’s no other way to spin it; it’s an insult, a put-down, and Kevin Burnett was dead wrong for that.

You may THINK you have a set of balls, Deb, but you don’t. You could never understand how wrong Burnett was for this; black or otherwise, he was WRONG, and every “guy”here knows that.

Go there, type “Kevin Burnett Masters degree” and ‘ironically’ you will see he received a masters degree in sports management from the University of Tennessee. Ironically you have to read in order to find this out.

Without a doubt, if that white reporter called Burnett “boy”, the black communty would be calling for his hide, and GET it.

Re: “black guy using the term boy”: yeah, it was rude, but slurs have a context; “boy” was not a slur that black men have used against white men for hundreds of years. There is really no symmetry here.

But yeah, the player screwed up here (no fans means no paycheck) and will probably be disciplined.
