Michael Vick was scheduled to host a show this season on Monday nights on WIP in Philadelphia.

Two weeks ago, he couldn’t make it because he suffered a concussion the night before. Last week, he was a no-show for some ill-defined reason.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer notes that Vick will no longer participate in the show moving forward despite having helped promote the show before the season. Vick did the show once.

The “Chickie and Pete’s Players Lounge” rolled on Monday night and didn’t explain why Vick wasn’t there. Clay Harbor replaced Vick.

Look, we’re not saying this is front page news. But it’s fair to wonder ask: Would Vick have dropped out of the Monday night show if the Eagles were 3-1 instead of 1-3?

Vick overcame years away from the game to become a top quarterback again last year. But now he faces a different sort of adversity, losing five of his last six starts dating back to last year.

How Vick responds to this new challenge will be one of the stories of this NFL season.
