After the Colts loss last night, the Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star wrote that the team may as well stick with Curtis Painter at quarterback even if Kerry Collins gets healthy.

We agree. The Colts offense at least resembled a Colts offense in how they approached the game, even if Painter couldn’t always execute.

For now, Jim Caldwell won’t say who will start this week against the Chiefs.

“We’re not going to make that decision today,” Caldwell said. “I can tell you he did the things we asked him to do. Obviously you can see he had some bright spots, but we’ll see how things go the next day or so.”

The Colts confirmed that defensive tackle Eric Foster underwent surgery on Tuesday. He’ll be in Tampa for a few more days. The team didn’t update the injuries for rookie tackles Anthony Castonzo (left ankle) and Ben Ijalana (left knee).

Indianapolis hosts Kansas City on Sunday, which figures to be Indy’s best chance f0r a win for a while. It also figures to be the game I want to watch the least this Sunday.
