Colts defensive tackle Eric Foster did not travel with his teammates back to Indianapolis early Tuesday morning.

The fourth-year player will undergo surgery on a dislocated right ankle after suffering a gruesome-looking injury on Monday night.

“Eric is resting comfortably at Tampa hospital,n good spirits,he’ll b home 2Indy n a couple days,” Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted.

The Colts have announced anything officially yet, but we wouldn’t expect to see Foster play again this year. The team was already thin at defensive tackle. Promising rookie Drake Nevis, who was banged up against the Bucs, figures to play a bigger role.
