The Jaguars have rewarded Pro Bowl special teamer Montell Owens with a new contract.

Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union reports that the deal is likely similar to the three-year,  $6.675 million deal signed with the Jaguars last year.  Owens is also a backup fullback.

This is Owens’ third contract with the Jaguars. He joined them as an undrafted free agent in 2006.

Great locker room guy. Active in the community. Nice cheap contract for a Pro Bowl level special teams ace.

Too bad we didn’t sign a decent WR with all the cap money we have. GM Gene Smith = way overrated. Small school scout at best. He has absolutely built the most talent lacking roster football has ever known!

@redrocker—I was all set you agree with your post and the first three sentences….You lost all credibility with the last one.

Yeah man – there are a ton of quality 47 year old wide-outs who could step right in and get wide open down the seam.

I like Montell – cat can ball.
