Looks like it may be a good sports year after all.

First off, there's no Boston Red Sox in the MLB playoffs.

Now, it's not looking too good for the Steelers right now, either.

Yeah, life is good...

antibenapalidiot ...

So you don't count Pittsburgh's last two Super Bowl wins? Uh-huh. I know several Steelers fans who hate Roethlisberger. But they still count the Super Bowls. If you don't, you're as much a Pittsburgh fan as John Madden. And all the BS you've posted about being a Pitt grad and getting circumcised on the 50-yard-line at Three Rivers or whatever else you think will make people believe you're a Steeler is just that: BS.

Like caseyanthonymunoz, you could care less about rape or you'd have read the evidence and know no assaults occurred. You're probably a Browns or Bengals fan. Ravens fans are too proud to skulk around babbling about getting married at Pitt Chapel and trying to make people believe they're Yinzers

To those who doubted Harrison being injured, that's disappointing. Those of us in Steeler Nation are acutely aware of how much heart "Silverback" plays with. We've seen him sack up for years - he was already playing with back injuries that required multiple surgeries and deep incisions. Back surgery is serious business if you sit in a toll booth 8 hours a day --- try slamming into 6'8" 350 pound Bryant McKinnie for 60 minutes. Harrison is the Real Deal.

To those that admitted they misread the situation and apologized. Credit to you all. It takes a good man or woman to own it.

Silverback has heart, and everyone in the Steeler locker room from Aaron to Ziggy loves the guy.

Can't wait 'til he's back - in the meantime, we've got some young guys who figure to get more PT.

Even with Timmons moving outside and Foote playing a more prominent role inside --- here's hoping Worilds and Sylvester can make a little noise, and maybe even Carter can advance a bit up the learning curve.

Some of us may recall Jack Lambert was expected to be groomed slowly as an undersized linebacker out of Kent State. But necessity thrust him into a feature role, and Lambert sure as hell didn't shrink from the challenge.

Well ... I hate to hear about James's condition, and was pretty down about the team overall until I read this thread. If so many fans of so many other teams are still rushing to Steeler articles to pronounce us DOA and to tra-la-la about karma and other silly nonsense, obviously they still have Steelers on the brain.

Guess everyone else thinks we're more of a threat than I did. Thanks, folks :D

as you can see most are ravens fans here still not over the fact that the steelers have pretty much owned them over the years and cant get over it..so they have to resort to ignorance and laugh at a person when they get hurt..shows how much class they have..

Myself, I don't recall making any statement even remotely suggesting that. Instead of calling out individuals who make these comments, you call out Ravens fans.
I would like to say that I wish Mr. Harrison a speedy recovery. Like him or hate him - he's one of the most electrifying defensive players.
Go ahead, steelernation.....throw some more insults about Ravens fans. Talk about how ignorant and low class my statements are. I could use a few more laughs!

I think people are forgetting that Timmons played DE at FSU. He was more of a rush DE. He replaced Harrison for about 3 series last year, and I believe that he had 2 sacks, and 2 TFL's on those 3 series.

AND, to those of you writing the Steelers off, GOOD! We like it that way. This way, come the end of December, we can come back, re-read these comments and laugh. Lets see if you are saying the same thing then.

For all of you happily pronouncing the Steelers' season as over after four games .... who are you trying to convince? The rest of the thinking world ... or yourselves???

Was the Ravens' season over after Tennessee blasted them?
Was the Giants' season over after they lost to Washington?
Was New England's season over after losing to BUffalo?
Is the Bills' season over after losing to the Bengals?
It's a 16-game marathon and, with the Steelers' schedule, I'll take my shot with them - even if they are a year older. And in no way are they out of the divisin race ... not by a long shot.

Those who think so, keep telling yourself that. Maybe, just maybe, one other person might believe you.

Come talk to me in December ... not the first week of October.

countsnail says: Oct 4, 2011 12:47 PM

The Steelers won’t be making the playoffs this year, not even as a wildcard. Their age is finally catching up to them.

The Ravens should win the AFC North easily.

********************************************

Thanks for the prediction, pal. I recall people saying the same thing last year when (a) the Steelers' defense was basically as old as it is now and (b) Roethlisberger was out and Batch and Dixon were cranking out an earth-shattering 37 net passing yards behind a shaky offensive line when the Steelers squeaked by the Titans. At the end of the day, they still managed to make it to the SB. To be fair, I'm not so naive to think that such an outcome is likely to occur again, and the problems they're dealing with this year are quite different from those last year. However, I'm also not stupid enough to go around forecasting what's going to happen in the playoffs four games into the season, either.

Harrision has yet to be fined this season. We all know the league is paying close attention to him, so obviously his tackles have been legal.

Any comments about him still hitting helmet to helmet are wrong, plain and simple.

Where's that 7 rings guy? Always running his troll mouth. Guess it's got something else shoved down it's throat now.

You know who sucks? The Steelers. Who doesn't? Cam Newton.

Steelers are a joke. Every week it's another excuse. Take your 4-12 season like a man!!

I live in an apartment building where the concierge is in charge of keeping the kids off the grass, I've never caught a 3 ft. fish (but I'll be sure to let you know when I do) and yes, in junior high football, I was taught how to tackle. Anything else I can help you with?
