There’s been so much talk about how disappointing so many of the offseason acquisitions for the “Dream Team” have been that it’s been largely overlooked that the Eagles’ first-round draft pick, guard Danny Watkins, hasn’t even seen the field yet.

But that’s about to change.

The News Journal reports that Danny Watkins, the Eagles’ first-round pick, will replace Kyle DeVan as the starting right guard on Sunday against the Bills.

That’s what the Eagles envisioned when they selected Watkins 23rd overall in out of Baylor in the draft: He was the first-string right guard in training camp and the preseason, but the Eagles weren’t impressed with the quality of his play and he was demoted in favor of DeVan just before the regular season. Watkins hasn’t even played in a regular-season game yet.

Watkins will be one of two new starters for the Eagles’ offensive line on Sunday, the other being King Dunlap, who will replace the injured left tackle Jason Peters.
