The Jets aren’t messing around this week.

Players were in full pads Wednesday. “Eye of the Tiger” played on the loudspeakers. Either the Jets are taping a 1980’s sports movie, or they are trying to get fired up for Patriots week.

Nick Mangold’s return to practice with the first team offense will make it easier for the Jets and their fans to get pumped up. Mangold was in pads, which is a great sign for him being available his week. Without Mangold, the Jets offensive line just hasn’t been the same.

Plaxico Burres and Calvin Pace both worked to the side without pads as practice started. Rex Ryan will update their status later.
