Fairley fully participates in practice, questionable for Monday

The first Lions appearance on Monday Night Football in a decade could also be the first NFL game for Detroit rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley, the 13th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

Fairley, who injured a foot early in training camp, fully participated in practice on Saturday.  He is listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Bears.

Also questionable are cornerback Aaron Berry (groin), defensive end Lawrence Jackson (hamstring), and safety Amari Spievey (hamstring).  Probable for the Lions are receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle), safety Louis Delmas (abdomen), linebacker Justin Durant (concussion), linebacker DeAndre Levy (knee), receiver Maurice Stovall (hand), and cornerback Eric Wright (groin).

Out for the Lions are safety Erik Coleman (ankle), receiver Rashied Davis (foot), and tackle Jason Fox (foot).

The Bears will be without the services of receiver Earl Bennett (chest) and tackle Gabe Carimi (knee).  Probable for Chicago are safety Chris Harris (hamstring), tight end Matt Spaeth (calf), center/guard Chris Spencer (hand), cornerback Charles Tillman (hip), and defensive end Corey Wootton (hand).

Could be the Lions are listing him as questionable to keep da bears guessing…

OK Gunther, 4 weeks gone by, TIME TO DIAL UP SOME BLITZ’S!!!!!!!

QUIT RELYING ON JUST OUR FRONT 4, SEND ONE OR TWO FROM TIME TO TIME!!

Or the o-line lines up, picks their assignment and has no worries, keep them on edge and guessing!!

Please clear this up for me! He had a full practice. He’s their #1 draft pick. They are playing their most hated rival the Bears and this game is being broadcasted nationally on ESPN’s Monday Night Football? If there is there any doubt he’ll be out there playing; please direct your inquiries to the “Idiot Box” on the wall as you leave the premises

See, we are always going to be better than you until you can at least match our greatness. 6 rings. Wow. No one else can say that. We are so superior. We look down on you peasants. Maybe on day we can call you our equal, but not today. LOL

This was the plan from the MOMENT Fairley got injured. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was in even better shape than they are letting on. Fairley will be unleashed on Monday Night Football and the Lions will officially Restore the Roar.

Cunningham had fairley in with the ones during the two minute drill. My money is on he plays.

  10. simplesimon1 says: Oct 8, 2011 7:23 PM

I’m a Lions fan and was reading that Cunningham and the rest of the defense almost went crazy today when they saw him finally get on the field and blow up a double team and make the play. He sounds to be ready. If he’s even somewhat good he’ll demolish people just by being on that line.

Just think. The Lions 4th DT, Fluellen, is still probably a starter on nearly every team in the NFL. LOL….My guess is Jay Cutler just urinated a little bit in his pants.

Jay Cutler is in trouble…I see a repeat of the 10 sack giants game.

Are you from Pittsburgh? Do you even live in the state of PA? Nah, didn’t think so.

You most likely just grew up in WV where there’s no team, or you’re from MD and didn’t like the name Redskins or the Ravens’ colors, so you latched onto a logical bandwagon. Get a life, and stop acting like people still care about the ’70s rings with Lynn Swan and Terry Bradshaw.

  16. packfaninchitown says: Oct 8, 2011 8:14 PM

Setting the usual (and enjoyable) trash talk aside, this game is a win/win for the Pack.

Bears win and Lions are one game back in the division (providing of course my boys win in Atlanta which won’t be easy).

Lions win and the Bears drop 3.5 games back on BOTH teams and are left trying to maintain third place.

Not sure who to cheer for but looking forward to a helluva game.

If you are waiting for these coaches ti tell you anything you are out of luck you only get coach talk we got to do better, they are a great team, it well be hard to win in their place, we could do better, you get nothing.

I think he will play some about 25% of the D snaps some pass plays.

You’re 4th on the list pal. Green Bay, Chicago and New York all have more championships than the Steelers. The only 7 the Steelers will see soon is a 7-9 record.

The Lions are equal to/better than the Steelers today, and will finish this season with a better record. No disrespect to all that organization has accomplished over the years, but I can guarantee none of the current Steelers feel satisfied over past victories if they aren’t winning right now. No team does, just fans and retired players talk like that stuff matters.

I got a $20 thats says Cutler gets a boo boo like the nfc championship game and leaves the game for at least a series cuz he is afraid to take more hits

What “roar” is Detroit restoring exactly?

I mean can anyone point to a period since Superbowl 1 where the team had been dominate or even well above average that created some sort of “roar” that is now being restored?

To what is this current “greatness” taking us back to?

Don’t risk reinjury – just make Cutler freak out a couple times.

  31. jlantagneart says: Oct 9, 2011 2:38 AM

I hope we’re not all just creating hype for Fairley based on the UNREAL performance of Suh last year and expecting him to do the same. Regardless, I can’t wait to see what he does on the field. If he’s even 70% of the player Suh is, what the hell is the opposing OL gonna do? Double team both? And then you leave KVB, Avril, LoJack, or Willie Young with a great opportunity.

Hell a guy named Turk McBride lions had to cut is starting and playing well for the saints on the d line. Sucks we had to let him go because he was actually real good, but i’m happy for him getting a starting role. Corey Williams is good but he is no Nick Fairly, we should see this come Monday

  35. jasncondit says: Oct 9, 2011 8:16 PM

I’m calling it now. Concussion for Jay Cutler and Roy Williams. Cutler by Fairley and Williams by Delmas. Donations to the sisters of the poor…lol
