Calvin Johnson quits once defenders get physical with him. It seems like every week he limps over to the sideline multiple times during a game whenever he falls down or gets hit.

Just a finesse guy, needs room, doesn’t want to be physical. Reminds me of Chris Johnson actually, another CJ. Are they related?

Lol another rob ryan comment. Thats what they all say, and easier said than done. BTW, CJ isn’t the only weapon the lions have. We also have pettigrew, burleson, best, titus young, and the list goes on.

Where are people getting 5’9″ vs. 6’5″ morre isn’t covering johnson, tillman is 6’3″ vs. 6’5″ typical lions fans dreaming about some miss match. The real miss match will be forte lighting the lions defense up like he does every year! Big bad suh can’t kill cutler when he just gives it to forte because they can’t stop the run.

Damn right hit him!! Remember tillman is covering him he is the best cb out there to stand a person up and punch the ball out while the safety comes over and lays the wr’s a$$ out doesn’t matter who it is. For those who don’t know who d.j. is? he will be the guy getting all the int’s after the tipped & hurried throws from the heat of peppers and melton on stafford. Which is understandable bet he still has nightmares of #90 giving him a “bear hug”

Fragile? He hasn’t been to bad but it’s hard not to be with someone completly missing a block and allowing you to get leveled. Not to mention this year our line is basically kids expect for 2 people.

I’m not one of the homers who will reply with my team is better and blah blah. I’m realistic. It would have been a miracle if he didn’t get hurt this year. Sucks but it’s the truth.

Im not sure he’s talking about himself hitting him. I believe he might be talking about the safeties. I know Merriman will be looking to get fined today, and Chris Hitman Harris would probably be happy to give up 15 yards and an automatic first down in order to hit a defenseless receiver today.

Johnson’s only human, lay a shoulder in his gut a few times and he’ll be thinking more about the next hit than the ball. It’s very hard to go up for a ball when you know the db’s got a bullseye on your exposed ribs. Hope the Bears can stop him, the Lions need to start losing like normal.

That is what every team should have been doing. Honestly, yes the Lion’s are 4-0 ONLY because of Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford. Has anyone else really done anything? I live in Michigan and have seen tons of Lion’s games to know that CJ is an unbealivable WR but is very fragile. Making him pay for every catch should be top priority for every team. I’m not about injurying players but making him pay for catches is the only thing that is going to throw him off his game.

So am I right in thinking the Bears will not bother to cover him and instead go for a hit, which they may or may not actually get?

Sounds good to me. Or, complete double coverage sounds good to me to open up the rest of the team.

He’s right – Calvin is not unstoppable. But committing the resources needed to do it will kill your team elsewhere. I’ll take single coverage on Burleson and Young, and a single LB on Pettigres and Scheffler ALL day. Or night.

As a Packer fan, I gotta say that this is awesome. I LOVE that the Lions are now a welcoming contender in the North. So much more refreshing hearing from Lions fans than the over-obnoxious Bears and Viking fans. Now raise up Detroit, and mushroom stamp these Bears into early hibernation!!! All that being said, the Packers are going to KILL the Falcons tonight.

If I were coaching I would make every player swear on their career not to tell the media the truth, but I coach them to take PI and Personal Fouls on the first few passes. Heck Id even take 15 yards to hit Stafford a step or two late in hopes that he’ll get happy feet.
