It’s Tebow Time in Denver

Tim Tebow, Donald Butler, Antoine Cason AP

The boos for Kyle Orton were hard to miss throughout the first half in Denver and John Fox appears to have head them loud and clear.

Tim Tebow took over at quarterback on the first Broncos drive of the second half. The crowd responded with loud and sustained cheers to the point that Tebow had to make the universal quarterback arm signal for “Quiet down” before he got into the huddle.

Tebow’s first drive didn’t look that much different than what Denver was doing with Orton in the game. He handed off twice, almost fumbling the second snap from center J.D. Walton, and threw a short pass to Eric Decker that resulted in no gain. The Broncos then punted back to the Chargers, who continue to lead 23-10.

    Should be interesting

If I’m a Bronco fan, I never forgive Josh Mcdaniels for what he did to that franchise. They went from having one of the most promising young offenses in the league to having Kyle Orton throwing to Brandon Lloyd.

it’s your time now tebow. can’t say now you were never given the chance. unless of course he doesn’t play the rest of the year. hope he does well.

I think Elway called down to Fox and said “let’s enter the Suck for Luck sweepstakes. Put in Tebow to shut these people up and kick back until the draft. We’re done trying”!

Tebow looks mediocre. guess the plan is to appease the fans while they #suckforluck

Tebow is terrible! He better pray he can pull this game off. His only chance will be if he can perform a miracle. This just might be the savior of the Broncos if he can.

“The boos for Kyle Orton were hard to miss throughout the first half in Denver.”

Back to… “Orton hears a boo.”

  13. manonthemoon4 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:26 PM

cant wait to see what denver fans will do when they realize that orton was their best chance. tebow is NOT a nfl qb. quinn will get his chance by week 7 ………………………

  14. udub says: Oct 9, 2011 6:28 PM

With Orton’s performance today its hard to believe Tebow could do worse.

  15. kingmj4891 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:31 PM

McDaniels trades best three players in Denver to Browns, Chicago, and Miami and Denver gets to watch Tebow Suck it up!!!!!!

McDaniels worst head coach ever besides Moronelli and his 0-16 season

Wait I take that back McDaniels is worst because he did not have Matt Millen for his GM!

  16. themars211 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:32 PM

Denver just upped the ante in the “Suck for Luck” sweepstakes……like Orton was’nt doing a good enough job on his own….talk about going all in for Andrew Luck….lol

  17. dannomac21 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:32 PM

lmfao tebow is god awful. i feel sorry for the broncos WRs.

  18. Gordon says: Oct 9, 2011 6:32 PM

They have 2 backup QBs & a 3rd stringer. Orton is a great practice QB, but all too often craps his pants in games.

As a Raider fan, I fully support the belief that Tim Tebow is the answer. Great job, keep it up!

  22. themars211 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:46 PM

Tebow is like a bad relief pitcher……all his passes are low and outside…smh

my fantasy team (brandon lloyd) doesn’t. i think a 1/6 performance with 0 yards is enough to see the guy’s a joke.

  26. flavordave says: Oct 9, 2011 6:48 PM

Tebow will fail miserably. Great college player but come on guys. Hes not a QB.

  27. apbabyjesus28 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:49 PM

Never understood why you wanted Tebow to start so bad, and now i understand even less than i did before. WOW, I thought TJack was terrible.

  28. fanoredsox says: Oct 9, 2011 6:50 PM

His stats are amazing. 1-5 for no yards. How does that happen? I am a huge Broncos fan, but if EVERYTHING that McKnucklehead did was horrible, then why would anyone think Tebow would work out? I really don’t think this Fox’s fault. I don’t think there’s a coach in the league that can help this team this year.

  29. bangitfootball says: Oct 9, 2011 6:52 PM

TEBOW hasnt even completed a pass yet. Hes a pathetic 3rd stringer ( and thats not in the Qb position). The Denver coach has lost control of the team and is letting 15 year old Tebow groupies call the shots. Pathetic.

  30. huhfasi says: Oct 9, 2011 6:53 PM

    TEBOW!

  31. brandyontx says: Oct 9, 2011 6:54 PM

    Touchdown Tebow #permaWildcat

  32. primetime6 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:57 PM

The guy is a winner, play him…

  33. primetime6 says: Oct 9, 2011 6:58 PM

Bottom line is you have to give him a chance to play… he’s a proven winner and elevates everyone around him.

  34. crawfish2011 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:00 PM

McDaniels also traded Peyton Hillis to Cleveland

  35. tatum064 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:00 PM

    Aw yeah, it’s Tebow time.

    one carry , 2 yards!

  36. etoharin78 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:02 PM

All Tebow has done his whole life is prove people wrong! I’m not saying he will succeed or not, but Orton has proven that he is NOT the answer. The Broncos were a wild card team at best this season. Might as well see what you have in a first round pick. If it’s obvious he isn’t the answer either, then look to the offseason for a QB. Gotta find out for sure what Tebow’s got, why not now instead of pretending Orton is more than average ( look at his record and stats)?

  37. joetoronto says: Oct 9, 2011 7:03 PM

You can count on Norval to keep passing, even when it’s time to run the ball and keep the clock running.

That Rivers fumble is on him.

  38. hoopshort says: Oct 9, 2011 7:04 PM

Brady Quinn would be a better alternative then Tebow. I can’t believe Fox would let the fans influence his decisions.

  39. stlducks says: Oct 9, 2011 7:06 PM

Lok at Tebow now haters..All this guy does is win games, his stats are not the best but he makes players better

  40. mymorningstory says: Oct 9, 2011 7:07 PM

well, it’s Clearly ABOUT TIME they put Tebow in.. 3 series, 2 touchdowns … Yep the man knows how to win! Doesn’t matter if he can’t throw the ball like Tom Brady, HE WINS

  41. jamie54 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:08 PM

Tebow playing well, Rivers=donkey this year.

  42. bonniebengal says: Oct 9, 2011 7:10 PM

Wow, I think some of you anti-Tebites may have spoken too soon. Win or lose, he did better than Orton.

  43. trbowman says: Oct 9, 2011 7:11 PM

What known of you suck for Luck people get is Tebow gives the Broncos a better shot to win than Orton. That’s evident.

  44. pacash80 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:14 PM

Now we know what we’ll see on ESPN all this week.

  45. bangitfootball says: Oct 9, 2011 7:15 PM

Well you can drop Brandon Lloyd and Eric Decker from your fantasy teams now. Maybe theyll install the wishbone lol

  46. oxycode30 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:17 PM

Tebow, aka the Jeebus Kid… looks like a rank amateur out there… poor mechanics, bad form, questionable decisions. If this is the 2nd coming I recommend a wholesale conversion to Buddhism! (And btw, Buddhism is the ONLY religion that makes any sense.)
Tebow is NOT the answer if the question is who gives Denver the best chance at winning… unless winning the Luck sweepstakes is what they’re after.

  47. themars211 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:22 PM

Tebow can’t throw…….You cannot win consistently in the NFL with a QB that can’t throw. It does’nt matter what he looks like today. How many times does a backup QB come in and looks like a world beater then when they have to start the next week they look like the backup that they are ? Save that rah rah crap for college and cheerleaders and give me a QB that can throw. You believers can drink that Tebow koolaid if you want to but I’ll pass!!

  48. failcopter says: Oct 9, 2011 7:30 PM

Tebow might be good off the bench, like now. But as a raiders fan…. So was Gradkowski. As a starter, he sucked.

  49. bonniebengal says: Oct 9, 2011 7:32 PM

Even though they couldn’t pull this game out, that was exciting and impressive. I can’t help but think that with four quarters of Tebow they could have won.

  50. raiderlyfe510 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:39 PM

John Fox keep up the good work and carry on the legacy that Josh Mcdaniels left behind in Denver.

  51. ruckthefaiders says: Oct 9, 2011 7:44 PM

“I love it…we went from this guy will never make it .. he can’t throw cant run.”..to “Oh yeah, he did ok today… just wait til he has to start” Already back peddlin’???? Quick somebody make a Jesus comment… Here we go FANS..Finally something to look forward to… Give him some game time…he’ll get it…..GO BRONCOS!!!!!

  52. Ratpee1 says: Oct 9, 2011 7:45 PM

Tebow comes in and the Broncos rally.

    What a game!

  53. comeonnowguys says: Oct 9, 2011 7:49 PM

    Oh for crying out loud.

That was a hell of a screen pass the guy threw.

Clearly everybody that has ever objectively watched football was wrong about Tebow.

At least he won the game. Oh, wait…

  54. broncfolife says: Oct 9, 2011 8:04 PM

Why can’t he handle a snap? The problem has existed since collage, probably earlier. He also can’t hit open receivers. When will he show improvement? He did give Denver a chance to win today but, I see fumbles and interception galore stacking up on his resume.

    TEBOW…..fix the problems.

  55. Ratpee1 says: Oct 9, 2011 8:06 PM

Say what you want, If Tebow was let go by Denver, there would at least a dozen teams interested.

  56. ready4doomboom says: Oct 9, 2011 8:10 PM

So, Same D, Same players.. Were down 23-10 at the half. NO TD’s in the fisrt half from the O. Tebow comes in and ignites the crowd and team. Produces 2 TD’s and almost wins. But Orton to all the haters is better. Proofs in the pudding turds. Hell he made our terrible D play better. 6 pts second half. Either way he’s a hell of a Fantasy free agent pickup. Good for us Donkey fans. Lets keep forcing changes…

Orange and blue baby. And Orange in 2012.

  57. tatum064 says: Oct 9, 2011 8:22 PM

The irony is; Josh McDaniels drafted him, and now his offense has crippled the better QB from the draft class, Sam Bradford for the Rams.

  58. Robert says: Oct 9, 2011 8:39 PM

    “There’s a gleem!’

  59. markmandude says: Oct 9, 2011 8:45 PM

The guy has played in three and a half games as the number one quarterback. 9 tds passing and rushing. He may not be conventional but he knows how to score. These scores have been in an offense designed for a pocke passer. If they design an offense for him he could be much better. Why does everyone think he is a failure if he isn’t great right away and every other quarterback gets years to develop?

  60. tatatoothy says: Oct 9, 2011 9:12 PM

    Let the Teb0w-Mania … BEGIN!!!

  61. freewayjim says: Oct 9, 2011 9:23 PM

Ok Broncos, you know what you have in Kyle Orton. Time to put Tebow in there, alter the offense for him and see what he can do with a fair opportunity and determine if he’s worth moving forward with.

Worst case scenario? the Broncos have a lousy season and you can draft Luck, Jones or Barkley and rebuild, which means you might be contending for a playoff spot in 2014 the way the NFL works.

And staying with Kyle Orton gets you??????

  62. ready4doomboom says: Oct 9, 2011 9:41 PM

So much for the know it all’s saying his 3rd string.

No, you’re right, no way the Chargers up 13 against a crapass team let up at all.

  64. lance19 says: Oct 10, 2011 12:33 AM

As a Charger fan, I’m happy to see
    Orton OR Tebow back there!!

The icing on the cake is watching management
make them even less of a threat by swapping
QBs around based on fan yelling and billboards.

1 and 4? Yeah, sounds about right.

    Thanks Broncos!

  65. Broncofanatic7 says: Oct 10, 2011 10:51 AM

All of you haters on here are so quick to judge to guy. He’s played 1 half of football this year and all of you are like “oh he sucks so bad!”
Give him a fair chance and see what he can do. If he was playing that whole game on Sunday, Denver would have won.
Just sit back in your lay-z-boys and watch him win. It’s Tebow Time in Denver, and everyone better be ready.
    Go Broncos!
