"ANYWAY…No one is “delighting” in any injuries, but the fact of the matter is that injuries are part of the game and Raider fans (true ones) realize that both Miller and Gallery have a history of injuries and Mr. Davis was wise not to give long term contracts with guarenteed money."

Really??? A history of injuries? When did Zach Miller ever let one of his "injuries" get in the way of his contribution to the raiders? He was the leading receiver for 3 years and only missed 2 games.. OH and made it to pro bowl last year. He deserved a huge contract from the raiders and now the Seahawks have a better offense because the Raiders pay the wrong players.

The play where Miller got hurt was a bad pass from Jackson. It was high, and Miller had to go up and get it. When he did, he left himself open and took a hard shot as he came down. A lower pass from Jackson, he's able to make the catch and protect himself.

The state of Seattle's development has limited Miller's chances so far. The young offensive line was in bad shape the first few weeks, but it's improving. The first few games, teams were crowding the box and daring Jackson to beat them through the air. The last six quarters, the downfield passing game has started to click, which is loosening up the safeties and creating some space underneath.

Seattle is averaging 32 points per game and over 300 yards passing the past two weeks, without a significant contribution from Miller. If he and Williams can start producing, with Rice and Baldwin already playing well, Seattle may have their best receiving corps since the Largent/Blades days.

Now, about that quarterback...

Wow @ you clowns talking about "Well so much for Miller being smart, amirite?"

Raiders are still 3-2, their offense is atrocious, Kevin Boss is made of feathers.

Can't be serious right now.

RELAX...Not sure who's comment pissed you off, but Al Davis was RAILED in the media for letting Robert Gallery AND Zach Miller sign with Seattle.

In fact Gregg Rosenthall was shocked (shocked I say you) that he let Tom Cable go.

Ironically the one Mr. Davis 1st round draft pick most people thought was a goner (Michael Huff) saved the game today with his INT.

Poetic justice that Huff is still with the team and Nnamdi, Miller, Gallery haven't contributed to their new teams so far? Maybe, but by no means are any Raider fans "reveiling" about injuries...Just merely showing pride in Mr. Davis' personnel abilites right up to the end of his great life.

Its comforting to see that the death of Al does nothing to deter some of the classless comments of some Raider fans. Davis was a true football guy and would never delight in an injury suffered by any player. But some of you immature jackasses probably don’t care.

Funny I was thinking the same thing. Don't expect much more than that from raider fans though. Their players aren't the only misfits.

I remember reading an interview with Zach Miller in the Oakland Tribune when he left the Raiders for the Seahawks.

He said Tom Cable made a strong pitch and told him they were going to do "things".

What have Cable and the Seahawks done? Make a fine pass catching tight end into a blocker.

Too bad about Zach, but it is a good example how Mr. Al Davis was smart as far as personnel moves right up to the end.

1) Mr. Davis, although he drafted Miller high, was wise for deciding not to give him $20 million guarenteed since he had a history of concussions (although Mr. Davis has never made a habit of paying big money to TEs).

2) Not re-signing Robert Gallery (who was also out for the game today I believe) and instead re-working Tom Cable's line and drafting Stephan "Wiz". Gallery was a 1st round draft pick of Mr. Davis and solid player, Gallery definitely is on the downside of his career and certainly too old/injury prone to be given any kind of long term contract.

3) Letting the best Raider of the last twenty years go (Nnamdi). Perhaps his most brilliant draft pick since Bo Jackson, but Nnamdi turned 30 recently (old for a CB), wanted too much money (he could only afford to keep him or Routt...a younger CB). Besides the Raiders weren't winning with Nnamdi anyhow. Seeing Nnamdi's play with the Eagles certainly makes a strong case that the Raiders may not be as bad off without him as the "experts" originally thought.

Really have to admire how Al Davis in a couple years (in his 80s), turned around the roster as fast as he did (with dumping Jamarcus Russell the first step).

Miller being injured is his natural state. The breaking news should be when he's healthy.
How do you feel about "stealing" him from the Raiders?
It turns out they didn't need him. Doing fine without him.
