Plaxico on Buffalo’s success: “They’ve got good wings”

The Jets have built themselves a hole in the AFC East.

Not only do they trail the Patriots by two games, they are also looking up at the 4-1 Bills.  That isn’t foremost on the Jets’ minds at this point.

“I can’t worry about [Buffalo],” Derrick Mason told Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports.

“They’ve got good wings,” Plaxico Burress helpfully added.

“We just lost to New England,” Mason said. “Now we have to move on to Miami. . . . I don’t even know when we play the Bills.”

Mason, who only took six snaps in Sunday’s game and is falling well short of expectations, is smart to not worry about other teams. The Jets need to find something they do well other than defend the pass.

The three-game losing streak had Rex Ryan searching for answers Sunday evening and cooling his usual bravado. Mark Sanchez patted Ryan on the butt as the coach left his press conference, like the big man needed a pick-me-up.

“I hate seeing Rex like that,” Sanchez said.

We agree. Sad Rex Ryan is sorta depressing.

    Who cares. The Jets suck.

And when you talk as much as they did over the last 2 years, this is what you get… Pounding by the NY media.

You can thank your leader for that.

A good football team AND good wings.

TWO things New York doesn’t have!

Sad Rex is depressing because Happy Rex makes statements Sad Rex and his team can’t back up this year. A year older on both sides of the ball, willy vets gone and SB guarantees before the season starts has relegated this “battleship” of a team into a rudderless boat.

Plaxico….You made my week so enjoyable. Thank you.
“Good Wings”, on the Bills, huh? Looked like you had wings trying to hold on to passes yesterday. Smiling like a freaking idiot after each drop! Priceless.
Chatter Chatter Chatter…drop. Chatter Chatter Chatter…drop.
I hope that the Jets don’t stop that chattering, now that even they know that they suck. It is heaven watching them yap and then fail again each week.
Plax, next time you want to go out partying with a 9mm…wear it in your headband.

The jets better start worrying about how not to go 2-4 before the bye. The jets are in big trouble. LawFirm ran all over them.

And how did the jets prolific O do against the “worst defense in the league’ ? 255 yards of offense???

Poor, poor sad Rex. Everything is great while swearing on HBO and talking about snacks, then reality hits. You’re the 3rd best team in the division and your team got OLD. Also your starting qb is a joke.

Mark, he’s sad because of you. You just aren’t a good quarterback. And for the first time in your tenure, Rex can’t hide you behind a dominant run game. He shd be slapping ur ass on the way out the door.

  18. waitingguilty says: Oct 10, 2011 10:46 AM

I beg to differ GR….Mason should absolutely be worrying about other teams….

As in what teams might be dumb enough to sign him when the Jets hand him his unconditional release this week.

  19. 6ball says: Oct 10, 2011 10:48 AM

    .

Predicting super bowl appearances before the season is reckless for a head coach. Injuries can torpedo any team’s season without warning.

Give Rex credit however, because he’s certainly well positioned for his dream job of pontificating on ESPN. After the Jets gig, the man will be set for life. The bigger the mouth, the bigger the contract over there.

    .

  21. nysaysbringit says: Oct 10, 2011 10:50 AM

No excuses here…The Patriots played a good game. They stayed a step or two ahead of us the entire game. While the Jets continue to shoot themselves in the a$$, stupid penalties….dropped passes…missed tackles…and more.
If you dont correct these things, you CANT win. And you sure as hell cant make excuses for them. CASE CLOSED. Good game Pats!

    And Buffalo is located…where?

Anyway, the team looked a lot better previously but things must change to turn this around. Playcalling/Gameplanning (sometimes) and mental errors are a plague to this team. We’re still in decent shape, but they gotta beat the Fins this weekend.

  30. richm2256 says: Oct 10, 2011 10:57 AM

What’s sweet about this game isn’t that the Pats beat the Yets (again), or that their defense finally turned a corner of sucking……..

It’s that so many loud-mouthed idiot Jets players who talked so much crap all week now have to account for the fact that they, you know, LOST.

Even BETTER than that is all the idiot Yets fans who posted here all week about thrashing New England, and guaranteeing a win, and wondering what Pats fans will say after the Yets won the game …….

THOSE guys are suddenly the ones either saying nothing at all or, even worse, looking like crybabies whining about the refs costing the Yets the game.

Yeah, it wasn’t the vaunted Yets defense that couldn’t stop Tom Brady and BJGE, and it wasn’t the mighty Mark Sanchez and the great Yets offense which couldn’t do squat against the WORST RANKED DEFENSE in the league …….

    it was the “refs”.

    Right.

Three straight losses while New England and Bufallo are 4-1.

That Yets-Iggles Super Bowl is not quite shaping up, is it?

  34. thejuddstir says: Oct 10, 2011 11:03 AM

Kinda nice to see Rex not have anything to say for once………………….wait until they beat the winless Fins and then Rex will be crowing like a rooster once again! Funny how Rex calls all his players the best at their position but yet his entire offense is below average. Sanchez will never be an above average QB, Burress has no tread left, nor does LT, Shonn Greene is a bust, Santonio Holmes is a good #2wr but never has been a person you could count on. His one shining moment in the SB is so overrated. Now that we have quieted Rex down, maybe we can get lucky and do the same with Favre and the Packers…..wishful thinking.

  35. prmpft says: Oct 10, 2011 11:13 AM

this could not be happening to a more deserving bunch!!!…

  36. pigskinswag says: Oct 10, 2011 11:17 AM

It’s interesting that Jets players would make comments about the Buffalo Bills, being that they’re currently the Championship Game version of the 1990-1993 Bills…getting to the game, NEVER winning.

  37. ninersforlife15 says: Oct 10, 2011 11:17 AM

I think it is HILARIOUS!!! The best thing the Jets do is talk crap, and they can’t even do that well. They are the most overhyped team in the league. Sanchez is overrated, Mason and L.T. are over the hill, Holmes is nothing without Edwards, and Edwards is 100 times better than Plaxico Burress. Hmmmmmmm…… I wonder why the Jets recivers are complaining. When Sanchez needed a big play (like the one to ice the colts in the playoffs last year) he went to Edwards not Holmes. Edwards is the one that made that offense work. This is what everyone LIKES to hear outside of New York, silence out of Jets camp, and Ryan’s fat mouth is shut!

  38. damnsureis says: Oct 10, 2011 11:22 AM

  45. rabidbillsfan says: Oct 10, 2011 11:46 AM

When will everybody learn, the only way to beat the Patriots is to keep up with them, and let them beat themselves. The Pats D still isn’t good, regardless of what a previous poster said. Shonn Green was still ripping off some good runs, but when the Jets dug a hole, the running game had to go by the wayside. Brady will make a mistake if you let him, blitizing and working in exotic schemes don’t work because you leave to few defenders back to watch the receivers. I would rather give Welker and Brady the underneath stuff all day, and sit back and prevent the deep stuff. Is all it takes is a dropped pass or two, and a tipped ball, or forced fumble, and then you are in the drivers seat. The Bills gave everybody the formula, it wasn’t lucky that they won, that is about the only way to beat this team right now.

They played 3 playoff contenders in a row, and LOST 3 games in a row.

So what you’re saying is that the Yets can’t beat playoff contenders, but you expect them to make the playoffs and suddenly, you know, BEAT playoff contenders.

And you wonder why PFT posters think you Yets fans are morons?

Playoff caliber teams beat playoff caliber teams ON THE ROAD. Teams that can’t do that generally don’t make the playoffs.

By the way, the Yets face New England one more time this season, and the Bills twice ……both, um, “playoff contenders”. They also face a currently 4-1 Chargers, a currently 3-1 Redskins, and a currently 3-2 Giants. All appear to be “playoff contenders”.

So your “13-3″ season is looking more like an 7-9 season.

    Love that last comment!!!

Dude, this week, Jet’s stories ARE Patriot’s stories, or didn’t you notice that they played the Patriot’s yesterday???

You Jets fans LOVE running your mouths at how great your team is, then have real issues when somebody points out that they, um, LOST.

There is nothing better for a Patriots fan than a New England win over the Yets, over all the 30 other teams in the entire NFL.

    We LIVE for those games!

By the way, you may not have noticed that today is a holiday, and most of us are off.

  59. richm2256 says: Oct 10, 2011 1:30 PM

The best way NOT to get trounced here in the comments is to either not brag all week (all season????) about what your team is going to do, or back a team that can actually back-up all the bragging.

When you (and your team!) run your mouths all week, only to fail miserably on game day, you’re going to get ripped.

Either shut up, or deal with it.

  60. acruiser75 says: Oct 10, 2011 2:00 PM
