In late August, veteran Chargers linebacker Stephen Cooper suffered a torn biceps. Despite initial reports that he’d be placed on injured reserve, Cooper tried to play with the injury.

And Cooper indeed played, appearing in all five games. But the Chargers have now placed him on injured reserve. The team announced the move.

He has been replaced on the active roster by Gerald Hayes, an eight-year veteran who spent his entire career with the Cardinals.
