I don't believe in curses, but still don't want to see another Steeler on the Madden cover. If they worry about curses, sometimes people can psyche themselves out and create a self-fulfilling prophecy. And sometimes when people use sickness or injury to gain leverage during contract negotiations that kind of underhanded strategy can come back to bite them.

It’s the curse of Art Modell. Modell felt he was run out of Cleveland, as will all sport’s front offices, coaches, and players…look at the Indians and that new owner, and the Cavs after LeBron has gone.

Modell abandoned Cleveland to the hands of an absentee owner as well.

Modell created a void in that city, and no amount of frenzied hatred, remorse, or political piety will ever fill.

If there’s one thing consistent in the NFL it’s the browns. A 12-year expansion team (and counting). Every preseason the calls to 850AM are loaded with 12-4 and 10-6 predictions. And every year, the complaining starts around week 5 or 6 as reality sets in. If I was a browns fan, I’d try to figure out why God hates my team.

It’s funny how teams cycle out of their “rebuilding” phase (Detriot, Buffalo, SF), but not the Browns. Somehow they find a way not to benefit from high draft positions.

I have to agree with the Browns fans here, the play calling yesterday was horrific.

I can only speak for yesterday, but if that was any indication of the season so far, Shurmur obviously isn’t the guy for the job.

Patsy the Puppet Shurmur is in over his head as both a HC And play caller . he just looks totaly lost . we went from a talentless smart physical disciplined team to a soft undisciplined still talentless pile of jello .

does the Walrus waddle down to the sidelines before this mess gets anymore out of control ?

Shurmur needs to hand off the play calling. He’s just awful. Why can’t the Browns ever hire a HC w/experience? Always some over-rated coordinator. I don’t remember STL’s offense blowin’ it up last yr. I realize it’s still too early in his run to judge….but based on what we’ve seen in the 1st 5 games it looks like “The Walrus ” blew it.
