Exactly. And PFT bangs the drum the loudest, preaching that players should be suspended (not just fined). They should listen to Mark Schlereth’s take — much better reasoned than PFT always trying to wussify the league.

Anothe example: PFT says the “NFL got it wrong” on how the Schwartz/Harbaugh was “swept under the rug by the NFL.” They write 9,000,000 articles on Harbaugh/Schwartz – and then claim they want such provocative moments permanently extinguished.

Then there’s the Turd Watch, where PFT shines the 500 Watt Lights on whatever person is merely charged of something. It doesn’t have to be proven true. Only the accusation is enough for the big headline to read “Turd Watch Back Down to Zero.” Anyone remember that?

Another beef. PFT’s positions are always voiced from ONE person but ONE who claims “WE” think…,” “OUR” position here is …”, “WE here believe …”

So why can’t the author of an opinion just OWN it? Does everyone on staff agree about everything? Does PFT expect us to believe they have meetings ahead of time to establish a consensus take? Just own it – rather than hiding in the crowd by cloaking the writer’s views as those held of a unfailingly united crowd. Don’t you people have differing opinions amongst yourselves?

Finally, this comment will be censored. PFT likes to criticize the heck out of everything and everyone. PFT, however, does not appreciate criticism coming their way — though they do post a few poorly written rants, knowing such crackpot expressions will be harmless to them. Kind of hypotical to to bash everyone, and then keep a lid when someone offers fair criticism your way, isn’t is?

Hi! Guess the NFL agreed with you, but I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Part of me thinks the coaches should have been left to work it out on their own. But if Goodell were being consistent, he’d have fined both of them at least a token amount to send a message regarding their personal conduct on the field. It does irk me knowing he would have fined two players in the same circumstances.

I mean, in a court of law, the interpretation of the video evidence available regarding this altercation would be nothing but “subjective”, at least in the case of Harbaugh.

And as we’re seeing here in the case of some journalists, what on video looked like a pat on the back has now been given a “shoved completely out of the way” spin.

While I do ‘believe’ that Harbaugh should have toned it down a notch, even in that there is no “irrefutable evidence” according to the video we can see.

Hence, without “irrefutable evidence”, how can you fine Harbaugh? Like we’re saying, if the league fines Harbaugh for that, then if I were a head coach I would never “risk” shaking the opposing coach’s hand after the game, especially if our team had won the game!!!

Completely agree with you, but you’re candy-coating the past a little bit. As a Steelers fan, I’m awestruck by Chuck Noll. Love Cowher, adore Tomlin, but Noll is the man. However, he did not shake hands with opposing coaches after games, win or lose. And no one cared. Nothing that happened between Harbaugh and Schwartz comes close to Buddy Ryan punching Kevin Gilbride in the face during that 1997 Oilers game. (Yeah, maybe the Ryans are to blame for it all )

Maybe the answer is to stop the handshake tradition. Your thoughts on that?

Any player that signs it plays. If the coaching staff thinks he’s still right enough in the head and can get it done and the players wants to play put him in the game.

They get paid millions to play a sport, think of it as hazard pay.

Heck the Panthers could have and should have beat them.

Anybody looks good against teams like Denver and the Rams.

Carson Palmer spent probably the best years of his career with the Bengals and did so without complaining. He deserves a second chance with whoever wants to give him one.

Secondly, I don’t condone what Schwartz did. I actually have lost some respect for him as a result, and I am a Lions fan. But Harbaugh went overboard. The handshake being too hard, as he tried to explain, was not the issue. What was the issue was his “slap on the back” which was actually him shoving Schwartz out of the way. That was disrespectful and petty. You can’t call it anything else but that. Schwartz has gone through his share of losing without any of these issues. However, Harbaugh has a history of acting like a d-bag, at times. I think this is another one of those times.

I think both coaches acted like kids, and both should be punished.

Congrats Eagles…you finished. But with Rex throwing 4 picks, it may be concerning that you only held on for a 7 pt win…

Please don’t tell me about the players later health problems. I know they are horrible but few people (in the heat of the moment) think that far in the future.

The league has to have a physician of their own present to evaluate a possibly concussed player. Otherwise get rid of the concussion rules. It only penalizes teams that play by the rules and encourages more of them to skirt the rules. My vote is for the first option.

Yes they are playing pretty good, but I’d like to see the defense step it up a little more on the pass coverage before I start thinking we’re a shoe-in to win this years super bowl. We may be 6-0…but I’m going to hold off on saying “best team this year” until we play the chargers and lions and win convincingly.

I’m a Western Michigan Alum and avid UofM fan, and have NEVER liked the Harbaugh’s. Within Michigan they’ve never had that solid of support because ALL of them have always been pompous, arrogant, and rubbed many within their own “circles” the wrong way.

The Michigan following is devout and its tough to find may “michigan men” that the fans don’t like or at least give the benefit of the doubt with…but the Harbaughs are and have always been an exception.

I’m also a neutral party and I have to agree with you here, I saw nothing done purposely to piss off Schwartz. Looking at it, I’d say Harbaugh was just so excited that he never saw Schwartz come up to him until the last second and by then it was too late to slow down his celebration so he just shook his hand and kept moving. Then Schwartz, being a sore loser, lost his cool and blew up about it for whatever reason.

My money goes on the Lions in round two…

I don’t think it’s that far-fetched to imagine that happening when you’re skidding with your face mask on the ground. However, I totally understand your completely irrational need to take digs at the Eagles every time you write about them….oh wait…I think I was missing a “don’t” in that statement.
