The pitchforks are back in storage in Philadelphia

What a difference a win makes.

The Eagles head into their bye week with a little momentum after beating the Redskins. The NFC East still looks wide open with four good, but not great squads.

Last week, Eagles players were telling fans to take down a sign outside their team facility.  The signs have changed.

“Thank You and Your Welcome!” the sign reads this week.  (Eagles guard Evan Mathis posted a picture jokingly beating up “Sign man” for his grammar.)

Instead of column after column calling for Andy Reid’s head, the Philadelphia Inquirer asks: “Has the season been saved?”

Well, sure. At least until the next Eagles loss.

  1. Only because it’s a bye week. If there were a game this week, I’d have my pitchfork closer to me in the garage rather than the shed.

  2. Thank you Rex for being yourself. That said, people in Philly tie too much of their identities up in guys who play for the highest bidder.

  3. rosy.

i’ve said it before, i’ll say it again.

stop aimlessly spewing hate about philadelphia, the eagles, and the fans.

go home to raise your daughter.

  4. Vick, Kolb, and McNabb are a combined 4-13 this year. How come no one ever mentions that when saying “how great” Reid is with QBS?

  5. Sign man is an idiot. Even if the grammar was correct, what the hell is “you’re welcome” supposed to mean coming from him?

  6. One article in a newspaper, and you assume an entire fanbase feels totally different because of one win?

Seriously, this site needs to get some real news articles on it.

  7. One win against a garbage team, and suddenly, everything is great again, and the Dream Team is on their way to the Superbowlzzzzz….

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!

  8. So because Grossman had a really crappy day all is well? Well never gave residents of philly too much credit for their lack of IQ.

  9. Although the win helps, I think the positive vibe comes from some defensive adjustments…mainly dropping the wide 9 technique on first downs and obvious running downs. It was clear after the second week of the season that the Eagles LB’s aren’t good enough to compensate for the large gaps the wide 9 is responsible for creating. Also, a slight shift in offensive play calling. Mainly, give McCoy the ball. While I don’t think he should be asked to run the ball 28 times a week, there is no excuse not to give him 20 touches a week. It seemed like the coaches were actually putting the players in a position to succeed….they had not been doing that previously.

  10. wawa33 says: At least Reid got some great draft positions for two of the three and the third guy cost nothing in other personnel. I’m still convinced he kept the best of the three. Let’s see how the team plays against the other turnover, interception king in two weeks.

  11. These people aren’t the Eagle’s fan base.

The true fans … are always behind the Eagles through
    thick-and-thin.

Sure we want a S.B win .. but we also want the Skins/CBoys/Giants .. to bring their A-Game, when we play.

Just because you found a few nut-jobs .. that don’t know anything about NFL football, except what they hear from the MEDIA-TYPES, that just want to stir the pot … So someone actually notices them.

And now .. this site is starting to get as bad, as the Morn’ Zoo WIP.

Make up a false rumor/from an UN-named source – then beat it to death – find out later it is a made-up-lie.

How is the : ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports that former Browns coach Eric Mangini turned down the Eagles this week when they offered him a role as defensive consultant…story coming along,,that you beat-to-death ?

  12. The Eagles barely beat the Redskins who threw 4 picks. If the Eagles were back on track they would of out scored them by at least 17.

Don’t let this game fool you PFT. In another 2 weeks the angry mob will be back again.

You barely beat a terrible Redskins team.

The Giants are waiting for you to come back to the Meadowlands.

I hope that punt return made you extra happy!

Wow your an idiot to actually be this easy. Well at east we beat the redskins unlike your squad. And I am sooo tired of everyone saying “oh you beat a bad redskins team” well rex grossman and the redskins were doing good untill they met us were they not? And we FORCED those INTs so saying had he not thrown 4 picks we woud of ost blah blah blah. Thats like saying “if our QB didnt throw that TD we would of lost….lol” Give me a break you haters. Its not the win as much as it is the defense doing the scheme we wanted all along and…… IT WORKED!!! Thats why we are comfident. Yeah the offense needs to work on redzone scoring but for the mosdt part as long as they dont create a fluke turnover. The offense has been moving the ball up and down the field (#3 in total offense ahead of the Packers). Its the defense that needed tweaking and they finally made those tweaks!!!

Again your an idiot. Read my comment above. The Eagles did have something to say as they “FORCED” those interceptions. And we were beating the redskins by exactly that (20-3 at halftime). We took our foot off the gas pedal and ran Shady (28 carries), not to mention the 2 plays Vince young came in he threw a pick so…lol Eagles defense didn’t allow a single TD till late in the 4th (garbage time)
